Emotional Moment as Magistrate Wears Mother Hat and Advises Students Accused of Murder. A dramatic moment unfolded at the Milimani Law Courts when Chief Magistrate Dolphina Alego paused proceedings to challenge seven university students detained over the death of Daystar University student Lorna Kathambi Karani to explain the “benefits of alcohol.” The 23-year-old died after falling from an upper floor of a Ngara apartment where the group had been partying. Investigators say the students arrived at the building intoxicated, prompting a request for their 10-day detention as police probe whether Lorna fell or was pushed.

Shocking Twist! Mokaya demands 200M from Safaricom for Data breach in Ruto Coffin case. Lawyers representing David Mokaya have described his case against Safaricom as a landmark legal challenge that could significantly reshape data protection and digital rights enforcement in Kenya. In a strongly worded statement, the legal team accused Safaricom of violating the Data Protection Act and breaching constitutional safeguards under the Constitution of Kenya. They allege that the telecommunications firm unlawfully released Mokaya's private information to investigators without first obtaining a court order. The lawyers argue that the matter raises fundamental questions about subscriber privacy, lawful data access procedures, and corporate compliance with Kenya’s data protection framework.

Seven university students detained over the murder of a female Daystar University student in Ngara A 23-year-old Daystar University student, Lorna Kathambi Karani, died after falling (or being pushed) from the 11th/12th floor of an apartment building in Ngara, Nairobi, following a late-night party. Seven university students who were with her in the apartment have been detained by the DCI and are being investigated for possible involvement. Neighbors and security guards reported loud noise before hearing a “big bang.” Investigators recovered her belongings from the flat (clothes, phone, ID), and are treating the incident as suspicious, not yet ruling out foul play. A seven-day detention order has been granted to complete forensic and witness investigations.
