Rick Chow, the gas station owner accused of killing 14-year-old Cyrus Carmack-Belton, was found not guilty by a jury after eight hours of deliberations. Chow testified that he believed the teen was stealing from his store and was carrying a gun. He claimed he shot Cyrus in self-defense because he feared the teen was about to shoot his son. Members of Cyrus' family were seen crying and sobbing in the courtroom as the not guilty verdict was read.

On Tuesday morning, Josie Dikeman took the stand in her own trial, where she is accused of killing 6-year-old Alex Pedrin. Right when she took the stand, she told the court that she did not kill Alex and she loved him with all her heart. Authorities say Dikeman called 911 in February 2023 when the child was unresponsive, and an autopsy later revealed he died from blunt force trauma, with a sedative also contributing.

A judge has granted a motion to allow jurors to visit the home of former "American Idol" contestant Caleb Flynn, the site where he allegedly murdered his wife, Ashley Flynn. Prosecutors claim Caleb, a former pastor, shot his wife in February 2026 and then staged the scene to look like a botched home invasion. The court is also weighing a difficult decision on whether the couple’s young children will be called to testify against their father. Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty to murder and tampering with evidence, with his trial set to begin in May.
