The Communist Party of Britain completely condemns the United States’ shameless, vicious and illegal attack against #Venezuela. This outrageous attack underlines the barbaric and piratical nature of US imperialism. The USA’s attack is a complete violation of international law, the UN Charter, and the principle of national sovereignty. The kidnapping of Veneuzelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife and the bombing of Venezuelan cities follows decades of economic blockade, military aggression and intimidation against Venezuela. This attack reflect’s the USA’s long-standing imperialist policy of intervention and coercion in its own self proclaimed ‘backyard’, aimed at destabilising independent nations and controlling their resources. Socialist Cuba will also be in the crosshairs of Yankee imperialists at this time more than ever. Starmer and the British Government should immediately condemn this shameless aggression - but will prefer to keep their mouth shut as one of the USA’s many lapdogs and vassals.
