There is a smallish inlet, on the BC coast with the warmest water north of Mexico. The currents travelling from the north and south meet here so the water stagnates and heats up 10-15C warmer than the open ocean. It’s a playground for the ultra wealthy. Multi-million dollar yachts, amazing islands, picturesque anchorages, lakes, pawning, fishing, float planes you name it. Beyond the money (which is significant), the biggest barrier to access is know-how. Being able to operate boats, navigate storms, anchoring, and safety are all difficult and have a huge learning curve. It’s what differentiates desolation sound from many of the other exclusive places in the world. Just having money doesn’t buy you access.
