So much to say about Max Styler’s 4 hour set at Brooklyn Storehouse last night. Holy fuck what a journey. Styler is carving out his own lane of tech house, and he continued to push new sounds throughout the night. He came out swinging right away and the set somehow continued to get better and better. Track selection was perfect, mixing was great, and he kept the crowd locked in from start to finish. I’ve seen Styler too many times to count at this point, but it’s crazy to see how far he’s come as a DJ compared to even a year ago. His Knockdown Center set last year vs last night at Storehouse feels like night and day. Max Styler is a must see act on any lineup going forward if he somehow wasn’t already.

john summit’s 8+ hour set at space was something special. he tapped into multiple sub genres while managing to keep the set flowing from start to finish. transitions were flawless. there was no filler music it was banger after banger. it was personally the best set I’ve seen from him. all around a truly incredible experience

Mau P’s 7.5 hour open to close set at Brooklyn Storehouse was a journey from start to finish. I’ve seen 3 open to close sets from Mau P and this was the best I’ve seen. Track selection was nearly perfect & mixing was phenomenal. The set flowed so well and his peak time energy was electric. That run from 2:00-5:30 was a clear display of his growth as a DJ. I’ve never seen Brooklyn Storehouse so packed at 4:30 AM - that’s how much Mau P had the crowd locked in. Easily one of my favorite sets of 2025, completely exceeding my expectations.

Chris Lake’s set at Brooklyn Storehouse may have been the best all around set I’ve seen at the venue to date. The production was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. In his 2 hour set, Chris Lake played perfectly to the crowd, delivering a dark tech house vibe with a well-balanced blend of house bangers. He played a ton of ID’s and every single one hit so hard. I wish this set was 4 hours long instead of 2. I have NEVER seen a bad Chris Lake set. Class act.

Rufus Du Sol’s live set at Sports Illustrated Stadium in New Jersey was incredibly underwhelming. I went in with super high expectations because their sets have never disappointed me, but this missed in so many ways. The sound was terrible, transitions weren’t good, and vocals in many instances were off beat from the instrumentals. It felt like they put effort into some tracks and not others. The show definitely had its peaks and I still had a great time with my friends, but there were a LOT of low points that seriously had me in disbelief. As for Sports Illustrated Stadium, there should never be a concert/show at this venue again. It was completely unsafe. People were rushing fences to get in. There was no order or structure whatsoever to get people into the venue. I didn’t go through any security or get my ticket checked. Ezoo 2023 vibes perhaps worse

Experts Only Festival day 2 takeaways: •The festival was run even better than it was day 1, with seamless logistics. •Summit’s surprise set at 3:50 was for the OG’s. The vibes in the crowd for that set were incredible. •LP Giobbi had the dance floor jumping early and often. Loved the energy she brought to her set. •While I thought Summit’s day 1 headlining set was great, his closing set last night was the best set of the entire weekend. He brought back a lot of the melodic tracks that make some of his festival sets so special. Overall, EO Fest was everything NYC has needed since EZoo. John Summit brought something special to the city this weekend — this feels like it’s about to be NYC’s must-attend dance music festival for years to come.

Experts Only Festival day 1 takeaways: •Every artist that performed brought their A-game. From Kamino (📈📈📈) on the main stage until the end of John Summit’s set I felt completely locked into the music •The layout of the festival was great. It was super easy to navigate - awesome vendors, cool side quests & great support for local talent •I thought the crowd was spaced out pretty well, with a solid amount of room to dance •My only real negative was getting off of Randall’s Island. Logistically it was a bit of a nightmare to get out of there no matter which option you took (ferry, walking the bridge) DAY 2 LFG

Chris Stussy’s set at Brooklyn Storehouse was exactly what I was hoping for. There are few artists that are able to tell a story in their sets the way that Stussy can, always taking the crowd on a journey. This was my 4th time seeing Chris Stussy this year and his set was definitely up there with his Miami Music Week sets at Space. What stood out about this one in particular was the last 1-1.5 hours. He was playing classics in such a tasteful way that I haven’t seen from any of his sets before. My one negative was that Brooklyn Storehouse was not only completely overpacked (per usual), but also the production didn’t do his set justice at all. After seeing the production that Storehouse has been putting on as of recent, this aspect was super underwhelming

I was expecting a commercial/generic set from Gorgon City at Summer Club in NYC last night considering the venue, but the show ended up being 2 hours of some of Gorgon’s best work. They perfectly blended tech house with their melodic-leaning tracks, including a bunch of ID’s and an Appetite/Somebody To Love mashup that worked so well. The set flowed flawlessly and ended with everyone hugging their friends. It was the perfect 2 hour set. As for Summer Club… that place is a fever dream. Insane characters (great for people watching). It was like Daer Day Club in Fort Lauderdale meets Atlantic City. Can’t believe people were in the pool. I can say with confidence that was my first and last time going to that venue

Swedish House Mafia’s 3 hour set Under the K Bridge was nothing short of a good time. Track selection was great, with a blend of tech house and their nostalgic 2010’s sounds. My only negative about the entire show is that some transitions were very choppy and disrupted the flow of the set. Overall, SHM delivered and always great to see them in NYC - especially for a 3 hour set. As for Under the K Bridge, I’ve had issues with this venue in the past because of the sound system, but they’ve seemed to make some major improvements. I thought the sound was great last night and production was also really impressive

Sammy Virji absolutely shredded at forest hills yesterday. i’ve never seen a crowd so engaged and in sync- he had the entire stadium in a chokehold. his set flowed flawlessly and got better and better as it played out. this was my 4th time seeing virji and he’s sets are getting better and better. i can’t help but wonder what this show would’ve been like at the mirage…

Omar+ 2 hour set at Superior Ingredients in NYC: •I thought his track selection was a bit hit or miss but he did a really good job of mixing in his own records at the right time and keeping the crowd in it. •The venue was PACKED like maybe the most filled I’ve ever seen Superior Ingredients and I swear everyone was newly 21 •Overall I thought the set was fun but there were definitely some moments that lost me. I’m curious to see what Omar+ would do with 3-4 hours as opposed to the 2 he was given.
