Instead, most users are choosing to hold their own keys. Binance itself withdrew its Greek MiCA license days before the deadline and paused EU deposits, trading, and sign-ups on July 1. Withdrawals stayed open. Teng’s warning: self-custody means less oversight, not more. This is the opposite of what MiCA was designed to achieve.
