🚨 A female skier slipped under the chairlift safety bar shortly after boarding the Big Bear Express. She dangled high above the ground as the chair continued its 1,309-foot vertical ascent. Two snowboarders on the same chair grabbed her and held her up, preventing a catastrophic fall. ⛷️😱 Ski patrol at the top terminal were alerted and chose to keep the lift moving rather than stopping it for a rope rescue, deciding it was safer for the others to continue holding her until she reached the top. To prevent such incidents, always follow the “Back to Back, Seat to Seat” rule to keep your center of gravity securely over the chair. Though visibly shaken by the harrowing ordeal and the sheer height of the drop, the skier safely reached the summit with her heart racing but her spirit intact. “Out on the farm today, a heron swam right up to the boat as if seeking assistance. On closer inspection, we saw a giant ribbed mussel attached to its foot. Tyler carefully removed it, and we placed the bird on a small oyster cage to recover. After about 45 minutes - and a fresh seafood spread of fish, crabs, and oysters, plus clean water - it regained its strength and took off into the trees.
