Today, Monday 22nd July 2024, Somalia National Army and Jubaland Security Forces supported by Kenya Special Forces, killed 103 Al Shabaab militants and captured 28 others alive when the terror group attempted a dawn attack at four different regions in Somalia namely Harbole, Mido, Bulo Haji and Bar Sanguni. A cache of weapons including RPGS, PKMs , AK47s and other assorted weapons were recovered during the attack. The 28 captured terrorists are currently undergoing interrogation. The Kenya security forces will continue to go to any length to protect the citizens. #ActionCountersTerrorism

The successful operation in #Ijara was not a walk in the park with the current wet season. Our dedicated officers endured heavy rain and flooding to smoke out #AlShabaab militants from their hideout. This is an indication that not even the vagaries of the weather can deter ongoing Multi-Agency Security operations against AlShabaab. Security personnel deserve a pat on the back for sacrificing their comfort to keep Kenyans safe from security threats like terrorism. OPERATION TO FLUSH OUT CRIMINALS UNDERWAY The National Police Service (NPS) has launched a security operation targeting the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) in Marsabit and Isiolo counties. This operation aims to dismantle the group's criminal activities, which pose a significant threat to Kenya's national security. The OLA is notorious for facilitating terrorism through collaboration with Al-Shabaab, trafficking illegal arms and narcotics, engaging in human smuggling, and dealing in contraband goods. Additionally, the group has been involved in cross-border incursions, illegal mining, instigating tribal conflicts, and kidnapping for ransom.
