Draymond Green on what he saw from Yaxel during Jimmy's mini camp: "By the way, Yaxel has talked a lot of sh*t and you all know how I felt about Yaxel talking sh*t, that kid can play. He is really good. Now, I don't want to put some expectations on him because the NBA game is different man. You get in that season with them lights on and it moves fast. It's Kawhi Leonard tonight. It's Kevin Durant the next night, like it's hard. So, I don't want to put any expectations on him that is unnecessary, but he can play. He understands the game. He's smart. This was really my first time getting eyes on him in person, you know, consistently shoot the piss out of the basketball, like I was very, very, very impressed. I'm excited to see where he can take it."

Draymond taking on a new role next season? 🤔 Steve Kerr: "We have to cut back on the turnovers. I want him shooting the 3 when he's open. When he shoots a 3, he may not be a super high percentage shooter, but possessions are good for us when he shoots because number 1, it's worth 3. Number 2, we get offensive rebounds. Number 3, there's a flow to the game that has to happen that if someone is open and they shoot it, the game keeps moving . . . "

.Shams Charania on the Warriors 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ "The Warriors could've got in the Jaylen Brown sweepstakes if they wanted to give up 4 first round picks-ish, in that range. They decided not to from my understanding. Those 2 teams, the Warriors and Celtics did talk about a Jaylen Brown trade around the trade deadline and it was around several first round draft picks, potential swaps, and seconds. The Warriors decided not to go down that route and so that's on them. That's the decision they made. If they had went out and got that done, does that make LeBron James more viable? If the Warriors had gone out and been willing to give up several draft capital to go get an Anthony Davis from Washington, does LeBron James follow suit? My understanding was if the Warriors were able to get Anthony Davis, they had as good of a chance, if not better than anyone, to get a LeBron James and I think you have to look at that in the calculus of everything."

Gui Santos on if it matters if he starts or comes off the bench: "For me, it doesn't really make any difference if you start a game or just start on the bench because by the end of the day, if you help your team to win, that's what really matters. So for me, that's a good thing. Now we got Yax, a big forward, a guy that can help us a lot and he's ready to help right now. We know he was playing in Michigan last year. He won a championship last year. He came for the Summer League, we won the Summer League championship. I'm just happy to have more guys that can help us, like Georges. We got Georges. We got B. Will, a guy really good too, that can help us. So for me, about the expectations, or just starting the game or don't start the game, for me it's not going to change nothing. As soon as Steve calls my name and I step on the court, I will bring the best that I can."

Draymond's response to the new role for him that Steve Kerr discussed: "Shooting when the game says 'shoot', pass when the game says 'pass', not becoming a robot and just going to 1 thing, I'm extremely excited about this because the last time I shot 3's in rhythm, where I could just go up and you know what, 'I'm letting that thing fly', was 2016-2017. It was probably the last time I actually was shooting in rhythm and just letting it ride no matter what. So, I'm looking forward to that, not that I'm just going to come out casting 3's, but I definitely am going to look to get more of them up when I'm open and you know that's exciting to hear from your coach. That's exciting because it's not necessarily something that I've always heard."

Steve Kerr talks about the Warriors' roster construction and depth: "Look, we did the best we could to put together the roster. I think Yaxel is going to help quite a bit. He's a really good player. He's older. He's mature. Watching him workout with our guys, he's going to help us. Gui Santos, Brandin Podziemski these guys are going to help us. Georges Niang, Brandon Williams new signees, nothing earth-shattering, but really good players who can play a lot of minutes. So, I think our depth is the answer. We're going to have to rely on our whole roster, including our 2-way players at times and fortunately, I do feel really good about the guys we have who have kind of filled out the back end of the roster and I think they can help us hold down the fort until Jimmy and Moses get back 2nd half of the year."

Joe Lacob on the Warriors drafting Jonathan Kuminga: "I do not view Jonathan Kuminga as a mistake. I think we may have made some mistakes in how would we handle it and how he handled it, maybe he made some mistakes, and obviously that's well documented and we had to move on, but he's an NBA player and played in the playoffs, and did really well. This not a mistake at the 7th pick. There were 7th picks that are out of the League."
