![Steph Curry talks about what he has seen from Yaxel: "I watched all the Summer League games. I haven't been there in person, but [Yaxel] looks very confident, poised, competitive. He's a champion and I'm excited to get out there and figure it out with him. Rookies are awesome because they bring such good energy into the locker room, especially guys with talent like him, so that's what we need."](https://image.24vids.com/tw-2075681641234833776/amplify_video_thumb/2075681307741593600/img/IJquyAmadwvkYcn6.jpg)

Jimmy Butler on if he'll alter his game post-ACL injury, including a shoutout to Chad Johnson "No, I'm not altering nothing. I don't care what nobody say. It goes back to this turnover thing when I always tell Steph and Dray, 'If I'm up there, throw the ball' just because I really think I'm a wide receiver. One of my favorite athletes of all time is Chad Ochocinco, so I really feel like I'm always open and I tell them, 'If you throw it to hit the rafters and I don't catch it, I promise you it's my fault' because I always tell them to throw it. I'm still going to run in there and run into people, and get fouled. I'll shoot 0.5 more 3's, but I'm going to get back to being exactly who I am. That is what has got me to this point. I ain't changing."

![.Tyrese Haliburton talks about his pre-draft workout with the Warriors 💔 "And I'll tell you about my Golden State workout, that was the best workout of my life, the best workout of my life. I know everybody says that about their workouts, like 'Ah, that's the best workout of my life.' No, no, no, it was the best workout of my life. I didn't miss because I went in I was like 'This is perfect' because I know I could play in that system and Steph wants to play off ball. That allows me to have the rock and then I could find him. I'm like 'Oh, this could be OD.' So I'm like 'I got to have a good workout.' I swear I didn't miss and then Steve [Kerr] stepped into my workout and was like 'He needs to do conditioning shooting, we need to see it full court' and then I didn't miss again and I was like 'They're drafting me at 2' and then in the interview they were like 'We know you fit us perfect. We know you fit us perfect, but we don't know if we could draft you at 2."](https://image.24vids.com/tw-2088672057072759129/amplify_video_thumb/2088671868517765120/img/wu3ar7XVRm3AW5Kw.jpg)

Draymond Green on what he saw from Yaxel during Jimmy's mini camp: "By the way, Yaxel has talked a lot of sh*t and you all know how I felt about Yaxel talking sh*t, that kid can play. He is really good. Now, I don't want to put some expectations on him because the NBA game is different man. You get in that season with them lights on and it moves fast. It's Kawhi Leonard tonight. It's Kevin Durant the next night, like it's hard. So, I don't want to put any expectations on him that is unnecessary, but he can play. He understands the game. He's smart. This was really my first time getting eyes on him in person, you know, consistently shoot the piss out of the basketball, like I was very, very, very impressed. I'm excited to see where he can take it."

Draymond taking on a new role next season? 🤔 Steve Kerr: "We have to cut back on the turnovers. I want him shooting the 3 when he's open. When he shoots a 3, he may not be a super high percentage shooter, but possessions are good for us when he shoots because number 1, it's worth 3. Number 2, we get offensive rebounds. Number 3, there's a flow to the game that has to happen that if someone is open and they shoot it, the game keeps moving . . . "

.Shams Charania on the Warriors 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ "The Warriors could've got in the Jaylen Brown sweepstakes if they wanted to give up 4 first round picks-ish, in that range. They decided not to from my understanding. Those 2 teams, the Warriors and Celtics did talk about a Jaylen Brown trade around the trade deadline and it was around several first round draft picks, potential swaps, and seconds. The Warriors decided not to go down that route and so that's on them. That's the decision they made. If they had went out and got that done, does that make LeBron James more viable? If the Warriors had gone out and been willing to give up several draft capital to go get an Anthony Davis from Washington, does LeBron James follow suit? My understanding was if the Warriors were able to get Anthony Davis, they had as good of a chance, if not better than anyone, to get a LeBron James and I think you have to look at that in the calculus of everything."

Gui Santos on if it matters if he starts or comes off the bench: "For me, it doesn't really make any difference if you start a game or just start on the bench because by the end of the day, if you help your team to win, that's what really matters. So for me, that's a good thing. Now we got Yax, a big forward, a guy that can help us a lot and he's ready to help right now. We know he was playing in Michigan last year. He won a championship last year. He came for the Summer League, we won the Summer League championship. I'm just happy to have more guys that can help us, like Georges. We got Georges. We got B. Will, a guy really good too, that can help us. So for me, about the expectations, or just starting the game or don't start the game, for me it's not going to change nothing. As soon as Steve calls my name and I step on the court, I will bring the best that I can."

.Tim Kawakami on Joe Lacob's goal: "What Lacob wants to do and this might get Warriors' fans mad, but he wants to build the next team after Steph Curry. I don't know how possible that is, but Lacob has a very keen interest in 'This organization is going to show what it can do with Steph Curry and then after Steph Curry.' I don't think it's going to be as good myself, but that's what he wants to do."

Draymond's response to the new role for him that Steve Kerr discussed: "Shooting when the game says 'shoot', pass when the game says 'pass', not becoming a robot and just going to 1 thing, I'm extremely excited about this because the last time I shot 3's in rhythm, where I could just go up and you know what, 'I'm letting that thing fly', was 2016-2017. It was probably the last time I actually was shooting in rhythm and just letting it ride no matter what. So, I'm looking forward to that, not that I'm just going to come out casting 3's, but I definitely am going to look to get more of them up when I'm open and you know that's exciting to hear from your coach. That's exciting because it's not necessarily something that I've always heard."

Steve Kerr talks about the Warriors' roster construction and depth: "Look, we did the best we could to put together the roster. I think Yaxel is going to help quite a bit. He's a really good player. He's older. He's mature. Watching him workout with our guys, he's going to help us. Gui Santos, Brandin Podziemski these guys are going to help us. Georges Niang, Brandon Williams new signees, nothing earth-shattering, but really good players who can play a lot of minutes. So, I think our depth is the answer. We're going to have to rely on our whole roster, including our 2-way players at times and fortunately, I do feel really good about the guys we have who have kind of filled out the back end of the roster and I think they can help us hold down the fort until Jimmy and Moses get back 2nd half of the year."

Doc Rivers talks about what people fail to recognize about Steph Curry: "I think the thing that people miss the most with Steph because he's this nice guy, he does all the charitable work, everything he says is right, like he's the most coachable star and one day we're going to have a podcast about that 'Why Steph has won over some of the other guys?' and because I'm a coach, I really believe a lot of it is he allowed himself to be coached and I think that's part of it, but what we miss with him is he's a stone-cold-blooded killer, just like Kobe and Michael. He just doesn't come off that way, but he's exactly like them and people miss that with him. They misforecast him, his toughness and his grit, they really do."

![.Bill Simmons on the Warriors: "Why didn't [the Warriors] trade for Jaylen Brown? They weren't interested in him. They weren't interested. They didn't even counter. When the Celtics were canvassing the league doing the Jaylen [Brown] fire sale, Warriors by all accounts, both sides, just not interested for Jimmy Butler's expiring and some picks. And the irony is if they do that, I think LeBron goes there, right?"](https://image.24vids.com/tw-2081583745916899704/amplify_video_thumb/2081583328491409408/img/MDaIZCE0xa9EAzNj.jpg)

Joe Lacob on the Warriors drafting Jonathan Kuminga: "I do not view Jonathan Kuminga as a mistake. I think we may have made some mistakes in how would we handle it and how he handled it, maybe he made some mistakes, and obviously that's well documented and we had to move on, but he's an NBA player and played in the playoffs, and did really well. This not a mistake at the 7th pick. There were 7th picks that are out of the League."
