As our Royal Ascot journey comes to an end, a huge thank you to everyone who helped get Joliestar there. It’s been a massive team effort with months of planning, and we’re incredibly grateful to all those who played a part. Thank you to Sir Brendan and Lady Jo of Cambridge Stud for allowing us to bring her to the UK, Nick Smith and the Ascot team for their wonderful hospitality, Charlie Hills for welcoming us into his stable, and James McDonald for his support throughout the journey. And finally, thank you to Joliestar. We dared to dream, gave it everything, and while it wasn’t to be, we couldn’t be prouder of her. She represented us all with distinction on one of racing’s biggest stages.

200 Group 1 wins — wow. What a special moment, made even more special with Birdman and such a wonderful ownership group. These are the moments you dream of and one we’ll never forget. It was a big day all round with Pinito also winning at Doomben, while Randwick produced four winners including God’s Window for Drakenstein Stud and Declichy Boulevard, who returned in terrific style to win first-up after a year on the sidelines. There are no words to express my thanks and gratitude towards my staff and loyal owners.

It was a real honour to have Chispa salute today in the Pencarrow Stud colours for Sir Peter Vela and his family. I’ve grown up watching these famous silks and have the utmost respect for the Vela family and everything they contribute to breeding and racing, particularly in Australia and New Zealand. This filly was very impressive in victory and looks to have a bright future ahead.

Autumn Glow has come through yesterday’s run well, which has been pleasing to see. I’m disappointed for the horse, as she gave everything in the race, but I simply got her distance range wrong. I apologise to everyone for that — we’ll accept defeat graciously and come back better. We will now look ahead to the spring, where Autumn Glow can shine again. I’ll speak with the owners, map out an exciting preparation, and keep you updated. Congratulations to Sir Delius and their team on a brilliant win.

We are blown away by how healthy Winx looks during her days as a broodmare. I’ve been out walking the track at Randwick this afternoon and it reminded me that all the things that worry most horses, never worried her. She was just invincible; all tracks, all distances, all conditions. Thanks to the team at Coolmore for sending us this beautiful footage.
