I’m currently rewatching dustin yu’s pep live interview, and honestly, it made me realize so many things. the part that really struck me was when he said, “what if the person you’re bashing is the breadwinner of their family?” that line alone says a lot. sometimes we forget how powerful words can be — how they can either lift someone up or completely break them especially their family as well. people often think that just because someone is a public figure, they’re already used to it or they don’t get affected anymore. but no, they still feel everything — the pain, the judgment, the pressure some of them are just good at hiding it. having different opinions is okay, but it never gives us the right to throw hate or bash someone. bashing will never do any good, it only spreads more negativity and pain. and I have to admit — whether I like it or not, there were times I could still be considered a basher. even if my intention was to protect my main, I ended up talking about other people or their fans in ways that weren’t kind. It’s something I’ve come to realize — that sometimes, even when our heart means well, our words can still hurt others.
