Commissioner Khumalo tried to be the bigger person and intervene by saying that the need to have an independent Doctor assess General Khan, was just the Commission seeking a second opinion, no need for his lawyers to see at as adversarial. Chair and Advocate Hassim are not buying the soft approach. She came back and said "Commissioner Khumalo you'll pardon me I'm coming with an aggressive approach because he even got the Doctor to backdate the sick noted. 😅 Chair said "You are not going to hold the Commission to ransom". #MadlangaCommission

He gave to Evidence Leaders an affidavit which he submitted to the Labour Court which indicates that Carrim's Doctor amended the dates on the medical certificate during his Disciplinary hearing sessions. This is what made Advocate Hassim to say no Commissioner Khumalo, I'm gonna be aggressive. #MadlangaCommission

So General Khan's Doctor deposed an Affidavit and submitted to General Khumalo to explain what General Khan and his son did to make him change the dates. ■ Khan sent his son to the doctor on 22 May 2026 to ask for adjustment of the medical certificate ■ Doctor asked the son if the certificates had been submitted to work already because he thought maybe they experienced some beraucratic glitch ■ He explained to him that changing the sick note would amount to fraud ■ The son went out to call his dad. Came back and said no they had not been submitted to work ■ Doctor then changed the date to 27th June as requested He washed his hands and refused to be thrown under the bus. Advocate Hassim said, to his credit, he volunteered this Affidavit to SAPS. #MadlangaCommission

Khumalo: What suitable qualifications do you say Ms. Mokwele did not have when she was appointed to this position? Johnson: I don't know her qualifications.
