This entire scene kills me, from Clay's animation, to Orel's reaction to the belt, to him admitting defeat and just telling him to meet in his study, it's such a funny ass scene dude.

Fun Fact: The model used for Christina is a modified Orel, instead with long hair, altered legs, and she's wearing a dress tho I feel like this is a bit obvious lol

We close out as we started, with the song 'No Children' by the The Mountain Goats and atp I think it's synonymous with Moral Orel

I like how this decision by Clay is recontextualized with the next episode 'Innocence'

What a great back and fourth to end off the episode. It's especially disheartening seeing how unphased Bloberta is by it all

Hey look it's where my pfp comes from!!! Besides that this scene is incredibly cathartic. Just learning Orel could absolutely body his parents at anytime but chooses not is is all I need to know to be happy

Ugh, Clay putting that mask back up completely unaware of the night prior is crushing. I wonder how he would have reacted if he remembered anything but I wouldn't hold my breath

For as harrowing as this episode was I'm glad we got this ending I feel a lesser show would have simply let him suffer and die for shock value. Actually giving him a fighting chance and letting him survive says a lot about this show's principles that I appreciate

I would argue this scene is the true moment Clay becomes irredeemable. Shooting Orel was merely a precursor You can make an argument he was too drunk to know what he was doing before, but this right here is a conscious choice he makes spurred on by spite and contempt

Hey it's that Catholic joke I see reposted on Twitter every few months. For good reason too it's a funny bit, I love how happy he is

This scene is already uncomfortable as is but when factoring in certain future episodes from S3 this is even more disturbing

Unfortunately due to the show being prematurely canceled we never got to see Putty and Stephanie interact much apart from one more episode which, while it is a shame, is thankfully one of the best episodes of the entire show

I like how scenes like these illustrate how everyone in Moralton truly believes in their twisted morality. It could have been easier to have them all secretly lying or don't care whenever they act hypocritical but scenes like these do show how much this system bogs them down

Fun Fact: According to the audio commentary for 'The Blessed Union' Jay Johnston revealed one of Dale's eyebrows melted from heat exposure while making The Crucifolks posters seen throughout the show. This aspect stayed and became the runner where he's picking at his eyebrow

I love Orel and Stephanie's dynamic. We'll see Orel interact with her in two more episodes but man would I have killed for this show to have gone on longer so we could get more scenes of them. It's always a treat when we get to see Buried Pleasures

This is such a cool moment and honestly I could see Orel growing up to become a Reverend or Pastor

I tried figuring out a way to cut this into multiple tweets but I really think it'd be a disservice to separate this scene. I joked about Bloberta's crashout being what won them that Emmy but really this entire episode deserved it. This is such a well crafted scene
