![[Fun fact] At the 2023 Japan Academy Film Prize, Ryusei Yokohama shared that, to immerse himself in Wandering, he made Suzu Hirose his phone wallpaper so he could see her every day. Ryusei Yokohama and Suzu Hirose’s first impression of each other during Wandering. This was the video where they kept bowing to each other. Suzu: “His eyelashes are so long… and even when I watch his work, I always think there’s no one else with eyes quite like his.” Ryusei: “I got the impression that she has both a strong core and also a really rich inner depth. "Like with Shunsuke, after he disappears, he ends up working in a strip theater in Japan. That whole section isn't really shown in the film. It existed in the script and filming but couldn't be included. It's because, the story should ultimately be about Kikuo's life and his journey towards becoming a National Treasure. So if Shunsuke's story had been shown in too much detail, it would change the balance of the plot. In the original novel, there are characters who play very important roles as well but some of them don't appear in the film the same way. Another one from Kikazaru Koi niha Riyuu ga Atte: "You should go and enjoy the scenery every now and then. No matter how depressed you get about the outside world.
