Breaking Huge #Celtics news-Im hearing that the team maybe forced to trade a star player (ie Jaylen Brown) to alleviate a luxury tax bill as bids start to come in to buy the team. Celtics will have to pay $513mil ($233m salaries +$280m tax) next yr. If bids come in low expect the trade. The Rockets make the most sense as they could do a deal to take on his salary & reunite with Ime Udoka -The Wizards & Nets are other possibilities - Boston would need to take back expiring contracts & get multiple 1st round picks. Trading Brown would put the team right below or close to the luxury threshold. The recent play of the team & Brown are most likely do to the uncertainty with the sale & pending NBA trade deadline feb 6th. If a trade is not done before the deadline its almost certain that a major trade happens in the offseason before the draft.
