.David Axelrod tells me on Inside Politics that George Clooney's assessment of Joe Biden was "devastating and it's what people fear." Jon Favreau, who was at Clooney's fundraiser, adds "every single person I talked to at the fundraiser thought the same thing."

Senator Bill Cassidy was the deciding vote to advance RFK Jr.'s nomination. As CNN's Jeff Zeleny told me on Inside Politics, "The reality here is, it is virtually impossible, politically speaking, to withstand the opposition particularly if you are up for reelection."

A sad reality - antisemitism is everywhere and it comes from both ends of the political spectrum. We saw two examples of politicians sidestepping instead of calling it out on State of the Union yesterday. David Chalian discusses the unwillingness by some to put morality ahead of politics.

Wow. Just wow. The Oval Office meeting between Trump, Vance, and Zelensky just devolved into a shouting match as Trump told Zelensky, "You have to be thankful. You don't have the cards." Christiane Amanpour offered this reaction on Inside Politics: "The only person winning here from this is President Putin." Kaitlan Collins adds, "With Trump, all of his diplomacy is personal."

VP Kamala Harris just called into CNN following a briefing on Hurricane Milton. I asked about dangerous misinformation coming in part from Donald Trump. Harris says it is "unconscionable, frankly, that anyone who would consider themselves a leader would mislead desperate people."

"It's all of our faults, right? I mean, we stir up the base. If you stir up the base, what do you expect is going to happen? If you stir a fire, coals are going to come out of it. If you pour gasoline on a fire, it's going to explode. And sometimes we gaslight the base and it's been happening a lot," GOP Markwayne Mullin tells me as he joined his friend Democrat Rep Josh Gottheimer to discuss their shared horror at the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

"The uproar is not surprising. The cost, however, is unacceptable," Frank Sesno says of Kimmel's suspension. "It's not just Jimmy Kimmel. It's a $15B lawsuit against The New York Times. It's a lawsuit against the Des Moines Register because we don't like a poll. It's settlements with George Stephanopoulos or 60 Minutes because we don't like the way you edit. I come back to Brendan Carr, the chair of the FCC, who said, and I quote, in 2022, 2023, 'Censorship is the authoritarian's dream.'"

"I may not be here in 4 years, so I'm not about to sit on the sidelines. The stakes are too high." Rep. Jennifer Wexton tells me why, despite receiving a devastating diagnosis, she's teaming up with her former Republican rival Barbara Comstock to support Kamala Harris. Inside Politics

"For the families that are going through hell right now - and I know this because I've lost my late mother to a plane crash - this made it even more hellish," Pete Muntean reacts to President Trump's news conference in which he baselessly blamed Democrats and diversity initiatives for last night's deadly plane crash. Antisemitism is nearly as old as time and is raging across the U.S. The way to combat it? Talking about it. Here's part one of my conversation on Inside Politics with Noa Tishby and Emmanuel Acho about their important new book, "Uncomfortable Conversations with a Jew".
