The false electors knowingly signed fraudulent documents, even after it was clear that Donald Trump had lost Michigan in 2020. This was not a mistake — it was part of a coordinated attempt to overturn an election.

Punishing states by withholding SNAP funding is not just unlawful, it’s heartless.

When I first ran for Attorney General, I pledged to protect our state and protect our country — I’m not walking that promise back now. Negotiating with fascists is a fool’s errand.

The fact that we are giving tax incentives to some of the wealthiest corporations in the world to build data centers is mind-boggling.

We've heard these wild claims from Donald Trump before, and the facts haven't changed. Michigan's elections are secure, accurate, and trusted by voters across the state. Any effort to undermine them will be met with a strong defense.

In the United States, we have three coequal branches of government and, I don't know if Congress knows it, but they are one of 'em. Executive orders are not laws. Full stop.

Efforts are already underway to create chaos and sow distrust in the election process. What we saw in 2020 will likely pale in comparison to 2024. As your AG, it is not my job to pick winners and losers. It is my job to defend the will of the people and I will not be deterred.

When Trump and his allies say “there’s a plan” for a third term, we can’t ignore them. This is serious, and it’s on all of us to speak out against such a blatant violation of the Constitution.

Yesterday, during the Air Quality Alert, AG Nessel joined EDF to call for the closure of the JH Campbell Coal Plant. Polluters like this are driving up our costs and driving down our quality of life. Days like this remind us why this plant can’t be open one more day.

Trump’s plan for a second term is to shock, awe, and exhaust with the quick pace of his actions and orders. We must stay in the fight and do all that we can to protect democracy.

These mass firings are illegal and likely to cripple important federal initiatives throughout the country and in Michigan, and so we’re once again taking the White House to court.

It’s a numbers game. There are only so many federal agents and financial resources. If law enforcement resources are redirected to target people without legal status, it will reduce efforts to go after violent criminals and will make our communities less safe.

10 years ago, I brought a MI case which landed at SCOTUS, legalizing marriage equality & adoption rights for same-sex couples nationwide. Today, MI House Republicans introduced a resolution to overturn those rights. I’m not giving up this fight & I hope you’ll join me.

Donald Trump is once again trying to twist the facts to undermine confidence in our elections. In reality, this case demonstrates that our system worked exactly as it should: the registration forms were immediately flagged.
