This was a member of the Jordanian Parliament. She is from my hometown. I grew up with people like her, and I’m telling you: they are not Islamists; they are simply faithful Muslims. How many people like her have migrated to the West, taken off the niqab, and are now running for public office on platforms such as “health care” or “social justice” and the useful idiots are voting for them?

I respect Muslims who are honest and consistent about what Islam teaches. Credit to this woman for saying plainly what many Muslims in the West refuse to admit. What she says confirms the argument I make in Chapter Two of my book. “Palestine” as a nation-state was manufactured as a political device. It allowed Arab regimes to support jihad against Israel without admitting that their newly formed states were illegitimate. If the cause had been presented as the liberation of Islamic land for the restoration of Islamic rule, the existing Arab nation-states could not have embraced it without contradicting their own existence. Turning Palestine into a nationalist cause solved that problem. It allowed them to support jihad without calling it jihad and to mobilize Islamic solidarity without openly challenging the nation-state system. Israel is the central reason the caliphate was never restored after its abolition in 1924. As long as Israel exists as a successful nation-state, the nation-state model remains legitimate across the region. Destroying Israel would delegitimize the entire post-Ottoman order and reopen the path toward the caliphate. And remember: this woman who could run for office in the United States on a platform of healthcare, housing, and social justice, win, and then use that office to advance a project fundamentally opposed to the nation-state itself.

Women were created for sex. Allah promised men women in paradise, Muhammad promised men women in wars, and the Quran allows Muslims to have sex with as many women as possible: “four wives and sex slaves.” In Egypt, 99.6% of women, both Muslim and non-Muslim, were sexually harassed. Harassing a woman in the West is easier because she is expected to consent since she is perceived as asking for it by being non-Muslim.

JD Vance said yesterday that Israel would like to see Iran become a failed state. Well, Mr. Vice President, here is Muhammad Anwar al-Sadat, the Egyptian president, in 1980, explaining to you in ten seconds exactly who is responsible for turning Iran into a failed state. And this was only two years after Khomeini took over. Israel would much rather its neighbors be prosperous, peace-loving countries. Look at Israel’s relationship with the UAE. A successful country isn’t consumed by the reflex to destroy Israel, it’s too busy building.

Shia Islam is built on baseless myths and absurd exaggerations surrounding the killing of Muhammad’s grandson and his family at the hands of those who later became Sunni Muslims. It is a tradition saturated with blood, death, grievance, and victimhood. Children who grow up watching and participating in these scenes reenacted year after year develop something like a conditioned pathology, a narcissistic self-righteousness experienced as virtue, and a blind loyalty. That is what makes the Shia resilient. You can't defeat them, because they are wired differently. You can kill them, subjugate them, or be ruled by them, but to believe some outside force will make them change is a delusion.

Islam's moral ceiling is fixed. It was set 1,400 years ago, by Muhammad and the Qur’an. You can’t go higher than Muhammad. He’s the limit. The ceiling. Muhammad married a child, took slaves, ordered executions, waged wars, lied, raped, hated, and stole. So how can anyone say those things are wrong if the man who did them is still your highest example? That’s why Islam doesn’t change, not because Muslims don’t want it to, but because they’re not allowed to imagine anything better than what’s already been given. The West, shaped by centuries of Judeo-Christian moral struggle, leaves space to climb. It admits mistakes. It reforms. It questions. It separates power from holiness. Islam doesn’t. That’s why it doesn’t evolve, and why, when it enters a modern society, it doesn’t integrate. It collides. Because a faith that locks morality in the 7th century can’t live peacefully in a world that keeps growing.

I actually agree with this imam. The sharia penal code, the hudud, is barely 1% of Islamic sharia, and it isn’t even enforced in most Islamic countries. So the fear that Muslims are coming to impose amputations and stonings on America is overblown. But here is what the imam won’t tell you. Sharia is not mainly about the penal code, and the threat it poses to the West was never primarily violence or terrorism. The real danger is the erasure of individual liberty and religious freedom in any region that becomes heavily Muslim, because sharia governs the relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims, and it enforces blasphemy norms either by law, as in Islamic states, or by fear and self-censorship everywhere else. By that measure, every single Islamic country on earth applies sharia. Not one of them permits full freedom of speech. Not one of them grants non-Muslims the same rights as Muslims. The penal code is the part they’ll debate with you. The erasure of your freedoms is the part they won’t.

Muslim women in the Netherlands steal bouquets from Dutch cemeteries. What happens next? Dutch families stop leaving flowers for their dead. A teacher in France criticizes Muhammad and is beheared. What happens next? French citizens are too afraid to speak. Muslims consider dogs impure. What happens next? A UK town bans dogs. Muslims don’t eat pork. What happens next? Hundreds of Belgian schools remove pork from their menus. Muslims demand public calls to prayer over loudspeakers. What happens next? Non-Muslims leave the neighborhood. Muslims insist on praying in public. What happens next? They take over the public square. Muslims become a significant voting bloc. What happens next? Politicians compete to appease them. And what happens after that? Whatever they want, goes. And what happens after that? The death of Western civilization as we know it.

The Holocaust was a genocide based on Jewish blood, not belief. Even Jews who were secular or converted to Christianity were murdered under antisemitic regimes like Nazi Germany. Antisemitism has always treated Jews as a race, even when Jews did not define themselves that way. Antisemitism laws were created not to shield Judaism from theological criticism, but to prevent racial hate, incitement, and genocide. Islamophobia includes criticism of Islamic doctrines, political Islam, Sharia law, and jihad. Labeling this criticism as “racism” is a way to conflate legitimate scrutiny of ideas with hate. This approach erases the difference between attacking Muslims as people (which is wrong) and critiquing Islam as a political ideology (which must remain free and open). Antisemitism laws protect people, not theology. No one is being arrested for criticizing the Torah or disagreeing with Jewish views. The move to racialize Islam and pass “Islamophobia” laws isn’t about protecting people from harm, it’s about protecting an ideology from examination. That’s dangerous. It allows Islam to advance unchecked, shields oppressive ideas from being challenged, and weaponizes tolerance against open societies. It cheapens real anti-racism efforts, by making criticism of a powerful, global religion into a hate crime.
