A treasured scene with Dolly Parton from my 2019 movie, "Christmas at Dollywood." I still remember pitching the idea to Bill Abbott - "How about a movie that lifts up Dolly Parton's literacy program Imagination Library?" I'd never heard him say yes so quickly. 🥰 I'm so grateful to Bill and every single person involved with that film for making that movie possible. Such fond memories...💕

RIP the one and only Chuck Norris.🕊 I'm so grateful I got to work with this legend, twice.🙏 First in the movie Sidekicks in 1992, and then in 1994 in an episode of his long-running series Walker, Texas Ranger, and he was so generous to me. I was 19, and in the story I was a teenage mother whose baby was stolen. Fun fact: In the final fight sequence, I was supposed to just be a damsel in distress that Chuck saves from the bad guy. But on set, Chuck suggested that my character get in on the action, which was SO much fun. I'll never forget that little gift. And I bet I'm just one of countless others with a story like that.Sending prayers and comfort to those who loved him, including his wonderful brother, Aaron Norris, who I got to know as a director on both of those projects. . . Some legends are so much bigger than life, it doesn't seem like theirs should ever end. Rest in peace, my friend. 🙏🙏🙏

Did you know that April is my 4 year anniversary of becoming a Christian? 💕✝️ I didn't want the month to go by without commemorating and sharing 4 of the many things I have learned in 4 years of being a Christian - how my life has felt so much calmer and more blessed. Talking to God regularly, having this relationship in my life, has made all the difference, and I wish this kind of peace happiness for everyone reading this message. May you have blessed day and feel God's love in your heart! 🙏

How it started vs How it's going... Exactly 19 years ago this week in August 2007, my very first book was published: "Math Doesn't Suck" - making the subject fun & relatable to middle school girls, and calling them to embrace their smarts. Now, 12 books and nearly 20 years later, I continue to advocate for math education through speaking engagements and more. A far cry from my days of eye-rolling Geometry in the early 90's from my school trailer in the set of "The Wonder Years." 😁 . . Hey, anyone know who is interviewing me in that first clip? The incredible St Paul's Cathedral - stunning, overwhelming - so easy to feel God in a place with such majesty. 🙏🙏🙏 . . And our friends Jason Priestley (yes from Beverly Hills 90210!) and his incredible wife Naomi & family happened to be in London at the same time, so we met up there and even climbed the 528 steps together up to the dome! (Check out the video of climbing- thank you Naomi for capturing that!)

I can say I sang at American Idol, right? I think this counts? (j/k) 😅 . . What an awesome time celebrating music and all things 90's at American Idol on Monday!!🔥 . . I loved chatting with the gorgeous & talented Carrie Underwood before the show & during the show with Ryan Seacrest (to catch him up on my Pure Flix movies!), and it was such a blast to hang with fellow 90's OG's like Danielle Fishel Karp (the other Savage brother gf 😋), Holly Robinson Peete 💃🏾♍️, Andrea Barber, #markcurry, Caroline Rhea, and my fellow Dancing with the Stars #DWTS alum, #reginaldveljohnson. 🤩 . . But most of all, the American Idol contestants BLEW ME AWAY and I can't wait to see how the rest of the reason goes - congrats to them - they are all shining stars already! 🎵🌟🎸 . . . P.S. Thx to #cathrynfarnsworth for coming with me and for all the great videos! 🎥

In honor of International Dance Day 💃, here's a fun throwback to when I got to dance (and act!) with Dancing with the Stars #DWTS pro GLEB SAVCHENKO in my Great American Family movie "Swing Into Romance" in 2023. 🌟 . . Swipe to see a behind-the-scenes monitor shot of one of the closeups of our club dance routine! If you listen carefully near the end, you can hear my hairstylist on set bemoaning the fact that my hair got stuck in my lipgloss 😅, and then near the end she says that she is just being obsessive, but it's pretty funny because by the end yes my hair IS indeed stuck to my lips. 😁 . . And guess what? "Swing into Romance," starring me, #davidhaydnjones, and the multitalented GLEB SAVCHENKO encores this Saturday May 2nd at 6pmPT/8pmET and 9pmPT/12amET on Great American Family (or stream it anytime on Pure Flix!) 💃🕺 . .
