World Apart is being described as "the game with the highest AI density". Backed by ByteDance (TikTok), and announced for PC, this RPG feels like an ambitious proof-of-concept for the whole "AI NPCs" idea that several companies have been trying to hype in the last couple of years. It goes hard on generative AI and other implementations of the tech. This was one of 12 games shown by ByteDance at ChinaJoy 2026 btw. The game seems to actually be real, and a Steam page is already online (link in 🧵). No release date yet. (personal note: this tweet is not me promoting or supporting gen-AI in gaming. Personally, I don't find this game appealing, although I am curious to see how it all works out when it launches. If it does. I do think it's an interesting case-study, and it's a title that has created quite a lot of buzz in some industry circles, so it's worth being aware of it. Also, I feel stupid having to explain all this.)

Beast of Reincarnation is truly an extraordinary game. After playing for about 3 hours, this might be one of the most soulless experiences I ever had with a major game release. It has such a soporific quality to it that I find so fascinating, even if it is what ultimately made me quit. With its soft-spoken characters, lethargic soundtrack and comatose world, Beast of Reincarnation feels like a nightmarish lullaby that has taken every one of its elements from other better games. Nothing in this title works very well, nothing works particularly bad. Everything is just kinda...there. Janky, derivative, uninspired, technically deficient, hollow. Somehow however, there's a game in here that functions, that can carry the user forward and even surprise with some occasional "oh that's interesting" moments. But the feeling that you're just turning pages on a neverending blank book persists. With each step forward I kept asking myself "why am I still doing this?". I couldn't find a convincing answer, and so I quit. Thank you Game Pass. You have fulfilled your duty. Perhaps this is what The Nothing really was all about after all. A fullness of elements that lead absolutely nowhere. Thankfully Sebastian saved us from that. Or was it Atreus? *This is not a review. I didn't even finish it, and likely never will. These are just comments based on the little I played.*

Stellar Blade is a game that only gets worse the longer you play. Level/world design is appallingly boring. Enemy design is some of the most generic ever. Traversal/platforming elements are simply bad. I really appreciate the incredible work put into the character models, animation, and even more into costume design. Really superb dedication here! The combat is a saving grace, although it could be improved, greatly. Overall the game "justifies" itself thanks to its unapologetic, but well produced, presentation. It's a nice and fun action adventure game with awful writing, terrible quests, and dated game design. It outstays its welcome, as 10 to 15 hours could have easily been cut from the final game to improve pacing. Somehow manages to work well enough overall still. I'm finishing Stellar Blade for the first time, and that's why I'm writing this now. It's one of those games I started, then paused for many months, and now decided to return. If I had to give it a score this would be a strong 6/10, but it's the kind of 6 I can appreciate, and I'm looking forward to the sequel. IMO

A gay club somewhere in China throwing an "Uncle Red" (look it up!) party! lol I'm sharing this mostly to show people who still think the country is some sort of closed-up North Korea that actually, there's a lot "going on". (LGBT rights are still a severe issue in the country)

Lord of Mysteries release date: November 1, 2026. That is, according to the game's listing on the App Store (+ in 🧵). The very ambitious and highly anticipated fantasy-steampunk MMORPG has, reportedly, been in development by more than 600 people for over 4 years, by Hangzhou-based studio SPARK NEXA. UE5 game, to be released on mobile and PC (at least), and F2P. Cross-platform progression. Lord of Mysteries is a transmedia IP, originating as the very popular web novel, and going on to expand into animation, merchandise, and gaming. While the novel might sound obscure to many, in fact it is extremely popular not only in China, but globally as well. It has been translated into at least 14 languages, and allegedly reaches over 100 million fans.

Phantom Blade Zero confirmed to officially release in China on October 29. Same date as the global release. The game will be available in Mainland China on WeGame. That is Tencent's PC digital storefront. Pretty much like Steam. Still, most Chinese gamers will probably get the game on Steam anyway, as it is far more popular than WeGame in the country. 🧵...

This moment will probably live with me forever until I die. I've been thinking about it every day since I finished Mixtape. My mouth made sounds when playing this part! The buildup of the action, the music, the lyrics, what we're trying to achieve...no notes. Perfection!
