Whenever I remake an instrumental for a cover, I like to use a stem splitter on the original song to easily reference each individual instrument! Luckily my DAW has a built-in one 😊 Currently remaking World's End Dancehall, I hope my version is accurate enough >w<

Consider using Bertom Denoiser Classic if your voice cuts out a lot! You can attune it specifically to your voice, and best of all it's free ^w^ Here's a little tutorial video~ You can run it in your mixer app (I use elgato wavelink) or in OBS with the atkAudio plug-in :3

When mastering a cover / song, I always use a reference for comparison! But if the original wav isn't available, you can also use Youtube's "Stats for nerds" on the video of your reference ^^ Very handy for setting your loudness goals~

This is a very good tip! Even established cover singers will change the key of the original to better fit their vocal range ^w^ If you want to quickly check if another key suits your voice better, I'd recommend using a transpose extension! It's also handy for karaoke strims :3

Quick audio editing tip!! If Melodyne picks up a section you want to time/tune as a sibilant blob (the stripy thingies), you can use the sibilant range tool to change it to a pitch blob for a cleaner result ^w^
