🌟 New eye experience site for lilguy.net The entire site is 69 KB gzipped (nearly half the size of the fonts it embeds), runs at 120fps on Chromium, and is of course powered by Lark, the same engine that runs on our hardware! Check it out at

A benefit of writing your own engine is you can easily just implement weird bespoke things that are annoying or impossible in other software, such as - automatic procedural line boil - exponential smoothed object movement - 3D parallax on 2D paths

STARBOY perceives its environment through a camera, microphone, temperature sensor, and accelerometer. We trained multiple tiny image models that run locally on the device, letting it recognize human faces and hand gestures.

STARBOY has moods and emotions: stress it out in a loud environment and it gets anxious and has to calm down. Leave it in the cold and it shivers. Shake it enough and it gets dizzy and mad at you. Each device ships with a distinct personality out of the box.

Each STARBOY ships with a unique set of eyes. You don't know what color you'll get, and you can't alter it. There are over 5000 different looks, each with associated rarity.
