I’ve got nothing but respect for the Co-op staff here. It’s so easy to allow this criminality to take place, especially given you stand a chance of being the one to get in bother if the suspect claims assault. Sadly Britain today has effectively decriminalised shoplifting.

Ann Widdecombe gave her life to public service. She earned her quiet retirement in Dartmoor. Instead, she was taken from us in the most unspeakable way imaginable. Before the news was even an hour old, the keyboard cowards were out in force. Sneering. Gloating. Picking over the murder of an elderly woman for sport, simply because they despised her politics. It is utterly depraved. Ann was a patriot. She loved this country, knew right from wrong, and never once apologised for saying it out loud. She refused to slump into an armchair while Britain went to the dogs, taking to the road to fight for common sense. We don’t just miss her. We need an army of her. Rest in peace, Ann. Rise in glory.
