This morning, I learned that Onision has filed a claim with the Copyright Claims Board, initiating small-claims proceedings against me for $5,000 in damages. The claim relates to social commentary I provided during my livestream on March 6, 2026 (Episode 27). That stream ran for more than two hours and forty minutes and included discussion of several creators, including Social Repose, FoodieBeauty, and Onision. As always, my content was continuous and transformative. Over the years, I have filed numerous counter-notifications in response to what I viewed as unjust copyright claims from Onision and others. In most instances, the content was restored because the claimants elected not to pursue the matter in court. Onision, however, has chosen to proceed with formal legal action. In response to these proceedings, I have established a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the associated legal fees. I believe this constitutes a clear misuse of copyright law and fair use principles, aimed at suppressing legitimate social commentary on a livestream with fewer than 200 viewers. If he drops this case, any donations made on GoFundMe will be refunded. I have to hire my lawyer again. Although YouTube has not been my primary occupation since 2023, no content creator should face efforts to silence discussion and criticism. This matter has broader implications for the entire online content creation community. Additionally, if anyone has a recording of the original March 6th livestream, I please reach out to me. I did not back up the live stream at the time and am willing to compensate you for a copy of my own content. The link to my GoFundMe is included below.
