WINDOWS // NYC is an interwoven city that we will all build out together. There are three collections that all interconnect, windows, buildings, and the city itself. Here is exactly how this will unfold with Transient Labs on Tuesday, June 16th. 🏢🏢🏢🏢🏢 BUILDINGS are generative grids of windows, assembled through an onchain seed derived from Ethereum block data and each work’s token ID, creating distinct sizes and layouts. My collectors, friends and family, and limited partner communities can mint these BUILDINGS before public at 0.015Ξ This presale window is FCFS will last two hours (12 NOON EST to 2 PM EST) All remaining supply will go to public at 0.018Ξ after the presale ends. Supply is 1/1/4000 total buildings, each grid is completely unique, and some have very special qualities :) 🪟🪟🪟🪟🪟 Individual windows are 1/1/1000, and each mint is one single window. This is gated at first to my existing collectors, max mint 50 windows per wallet. Priced at 0.03Ξ, blind mint with instant reveal- this section is packed with gems- cats, plants, neon signs, and a bit of New York City embedded in every frame. Its these single windows that are the foundational layer of this project, since all grids are comprised of these windows. All my existing collectors get these multipliers on mint day, final snapshot is MONDAY the 15th at high noon, EST. For example: Drips // 2x DRIVE Lap 1 // 3x DRIVE Lap 2 // 2x 1/1 // 5x Editions // 1x GRAILS from DRIVE and DRIP DROP have an additional allocation on top. WINDOWS // NYC For the past five years, I've immersed myself in a photographic, typological study of the illuminated windows of New York City at night. On June 16th, we invite you to build a new world with us, a multilayered, interconnected city of light and shadow, powered by Transient Labs Studio. This has been my biggest undertaking to date, and is the extension of my lifelong interest in photographic patterns and generative photography. This interest was crystalized in 2021 with my project DRIVE and continued in 2022 with Drip Drop. Over the years, I've learned so much about the conceptual world of typologies, about the intersection of photographic technologies and blockchain as immutable records of consensus and truth, and of course, about how the constant evolution of technology broadens the scope of what is possible for us artists- revealing new ways to create and connect with the people who seek to do the same. The process of creating WINDOWS // NYC has been the best sort of challenge, and as always, the incredible minds at Transient Labs have taken my ideas and built technological frameworks that have elevated this project beyond my wildest dreams. It's such an exciting time to be an artist on the internet. We now have the technology to build out our worlds, in spaces we own, it is truly the age of ideas. I've built a new home for my projects here, and in advance of my next major release with Transient Labs on June 16th, I want to share what I've made with you all, and open a dialogue about how we can use these tools as artists to enhance the experience of making and sharing our art. This is an overview of davekrugman dot com (link in thread), specifically about new sites for Drip Drop and DRIVE, and to that end, I'll give a work from each project to someone who reshares this post. If you are an artist who is curious on how to build a site for yourself, I would be happy to help, I'm an open book, ask me in the comments below. There are so many tools to use- I mostly used Claude / Anthropic- and now we can literally speak our ideas into reality , the possibilities feel truly infinite, if you have curiosity, patience, and a bit of time to explore a new frontier. For too long, artists have had to build on the rented space of social platforms, and now it feels like we can really create sovereign spaces that we own and make ours with our unique vision. 'ROLLS' 🎞🎞🎞 Let’s see what develops. My newest project is inspired by the interesting overlaps of blockchain and photographic film technologies. Both of these systems can be seen as decentralized, immutable time chains- whose value is determined by distributed consensus mechanisms. ROLLS seeks to highlight and amplify these commonalities, while also exploring the nature of trust between artist and collector. ROLLS begins with 10 tokens to be auctioned off in sequence on SuperRare, starting on August 3rd, 2023. Each token is a placeholder that corresponds to one frame on one unshot roll of film. Once all tokens are sold, I'll go out with my Mamiya 7ii Medium Format Film camera and shoot this one roll of film. Once the ROLL is completed, token metadatawill “develop” and will be updated with the final art- high resolution film scans. The mechanics of this project effectively turn my camera shutter button into a "mint" button. Knowing who has collected each frame will add a gravity to the decision to expose that particular frame. The price, provenance, taste and character of each collector will affect my creative process and my decisions about what- and where- to create. This year marks a new era for ALLSHIPS, starting with the launch of the 'Companions' podcast, which you can watch in its entirety right here- featuring a few of my favorite artists- J. N. Silva, monaris, and स्टीव स्वेटपैंट्स, with food from the legendary Alien T.A.👻👽🍄, and production by Brian Felix. Intro music by OLLIECHANIN. Growing up, I was taught that the dinner table is the heart of the community. My mother would always tell me that her favorite word was companion, because when you break it down to the latin roots, it means the people you share bread with. Food binds us together. We use it to sustain ourselves and our relationships, to break down the walls that divide us, to create trust and form the bonds that our lives unfold around. We’re in a time where we’ve lost so much connection to the distractions that surround us. Our phones and screens, social media, the relentless torrents of information. There is a hunger for real connection, one I feel deeply within myself, one I see reflected in my closest friends and companions. I’m going to do something about it, by bringing people together to share food, and share ideas- removing distractions and diving into the complex conversations and connections that we so crave. I always find the best conversations happen in the glow after a beautiful dinner. This is the first of many conversations with friends who I will invite to join us on future episodes. I've known each of these humans for a decade now and I consider them family, from our Sony | Alpha collective experiences to trips and experiences working together all over the world. In this conversation filmed last summer we discuss social media, the exponential rise of AI tooling, friendship, love, loss, futurism, technology, and how to best navigate an ever-changing world as creative professionals- among many other things. Geocities, GIFs, banner ads that link to the collections of Sam Spratt, die with the most likes and ALIENQUEEN, a live stream function with a full AOL style chat, the ability to "favorite" cars to keep track of them, bid tracking and a million other small details- go cruise our world we built and I would LOVE to hear your thoughts and feedback. The wider I can spread this message, the more I can make, so any shares deeply appreciated, as I firmly believe in open source knowledge and sharing everything I have learned in my decades of this practice.
