Had a long walk around the #LasVegasGP circuit today. Huge amount of work going on and Koval Ln still smells of freshly laid tarmac. Should be quite a spectacle under the lights but I can understand why many of the locals are a little upset at the disruption. Formula 1 Sky Sports F1

What have we been up to the last couple of days? Visiting the amazing Red Arrows at RAF Waddington. Wonderful to spend time discussing all things aviation, aircraft, briefing and teamwork with the best flying team in the world. Thanks to everyone involved for a fabulous couple of days. Make sure you get to see season 61 of the Red Arrows displays later in the year. Spectacular. 😄

Just completed one of the longest flights I’ve flown. Haneda Airport, Tokyo to Heathrow Airport We were in the air for 14 hours 26 minutes in Airbus A350-1000 G-XWBF Planned distance flown 7042 nautical miles plus we did a bit extra with a couple of holds on arrival. It was such a long route that Flightradar24 struggled to cope on the screen so I had to move it slightly during playback! We started at 139° east, flew in a generally easterly direction for 221° and arrived just west of 0°. Quite a route 😄✈️

Thank you Flight Focus 365 for capturing our landing at Heathrow Airport yesterday after our flight from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in our newest Airbus #A350 G-XWBS Now, let’s see if anyone can spot something about this landing which is different to most A350 landings? It’s very hard to spot and it’s not massively unusual but it is something we don’t tend to do that often….. 😉✈️

Having taken off 16 minutes before us,after about 8 1/2 hours we finally caught up with and overtook our colleagues flying the Boeing Airplanes #B777 G-STBL to LAX Airport We were flying our Airbus #A350 at 34000 feet and they at 36000 feet. The A350 is quite fast😄✈️

On our way to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport yesterday we flew almost directly over the top of an Etihad Airbus #A350 We were at 38000 feet with the other aircraft at 37000 feet as they crossed underneath us. This is the Etihad “50 Years” livery aircraft A6-XWB 😄✈️ It looked fabulous.

A short video of us overtaking (undertaking?!) Turkish Airlines Airbus #A330 TC-JOF on its flight from Dubai to Istanbul earlier. We were at 36000 feet and the A330 at 38000 feet. We were cruising at Mach 0.85 and the A330 typically cruises at Mach 0.82/0.83. We waved😄😂👋🙋‍♂️

Wonderful and very friendly atmosphere at Selhurst Park Crystal Palace F.C. yesterday for the final game of the season. Wonderful to see Ebere back at the ground where he got a wonderful reception. Congratulations to Arsenal on lifting the trophy for the first time in 22 years. However, I do have an idea for the Premier League …. As Palace season ticket holders we were told under no circumstances were we to swap our tickets and let Arsenal fans have them. Indeed, if we were found to have done that we would be denied season tickets for next year. Completely understandable as I’m sure there were safety concerns. Not surprising though that we were actually surrounded by Arsenal fans pretending to be Palace fans by either wearing Palace shirts or plain white tops for the match only to take them off and replace them with Arsenal shirts they had in their pockets at the end of the game! Now I’m not complaining about what the fans did at all. They were wonderful, friendly and even joined in on “Glad All Over” and applauded the Palace team, players and Oliver Glasner at the end of the game. We got lots of “Good luck in Leipzig” wishes from them too. It was a really friendly atmosphere. But I completely understand their frustration at how hard it was to get tickets for many who were lifelong Arsenal supporters. Chatting with them they said that 2400 seats available for sale. 1200 kept by Arsenal for themselves so only 1200 seats available for the match where they were going to be presented with the trophy. No wonder lots of fans did all they could to get tickets any way possible. So here is a suggestion for the Premier League for next season when working out the fixtures….. Realistically there are probably only 4 or 5 teams who will possibly win the league next year. So why not make sure all those teams have a home game as their final game of the season? In that way the tens of thousands of supporters who go to every home game will have the opportunity to see their team lift the trophy and actually be there rather than having to watch it later on TV? Surely that can’t be too difficult to arrange and if all the potential winners have a home game as their final match there is no unfair advantage towards any of those sides? What do you think?
