Warren Foster dialogue. Mel Blanc in top form. Manny Gould animation. The right ingredients for a top-tier Daffy sequence. (DAFFY DUCK HUNT, 1949.)

We all know what Tuesday is.

Happy 80th anniversary to Bob Clampett's THE GREAT PIGGY BANK ROBBERY ('46)!

365 Days of Tunes - 361/365: In THE ABOMINABLE SNOW RABBIT (’61), directed by Chuck Jones and Maurice Noble, Bugs and Daffy inadvertently find themselves in the Himalayan mountains, where they encounter the Abominable Snowman.

NEW GIRL taught us that "Meep meep" may or may not protect you against coyotes.

365 Days of Tunes - 365/365: We end now with a true masterpiece released 70 years ago: ONE FROGGY EVENING (’55). In it, a frog emerges from a box found inside the cornerstone of a demolished building—he sings and dances, but only in the presence of the workman who discovered him.

The MGM musical ANCHORS AWEIGH (’45) has the iconic live-action/animation “Worry Song” sequence of Gene Kelly dancing with Jerry, voiced here by Sara Berner. Ken Muse animated the key dialogue exchange and the segment's finale.

Muse was entrusted with these final scenes from MR. MOUSE TAKES A TRIP (’40). (The shot of Pete on the observation car might be another animator, but isn't listed in the circulating production scene draft.)

The first of Irv Spence's brilliant animation in the cartoon, which includes the earlier clip.

365 Days of Tunes - 363/365: LOUVRE COME BACK TO ME (’62), directed by Chuck Jones and Maurice Noble, was the last of Pepe le Pew’s cartoons—this time, he takes the chase into the Musée du Louvre, with a romantic rival in the mix.

Krakatoa Katie, animated by Carlo Vinci. (MIGHTY MOUSE IN KRAKATOA, 1945.)

Starkist Tuna spot with Charlie Tuna, animated by Art Babbitt. (Made at WB, directed by Phil Monroe.)

When Ken Harris was brought on to work on HEY THERE IT'S YOGI BEAR ('64), he and Bill Hanna worked out a special arrangement: Bill worked on the X-sheets at night, and Ken would arrive the next morning with his work set out for him...aboard Bill Hanna's yacht!

Jim Tyer! (BEAUTY ON THE BEACH, 1950.)

Tex Avery is trending, you say? [WAGS TO RICHES ('49); animation largely by Bobe Cannon, Walt Clinton does the "keyhole" shot.]

I really like how the remaster of SPINACH PACKIN' POPEYE ('44), a "cheater" in the Popeye series, is the closest we get to an upgraded restoration of POPEYE MEETS ALI BABA.
