Firstly, women are leaving Christianity in general, not just our denomination. Secondly, men are not the ones driving women from the church. The irony of all ironies is that there has never been more messaging for women by women. Women are leaving largely because of other women.

I was not always a mother who knew. In fact, I remember bristling at this part of Sis. Beck's talk. I was a young mother of three small, busy boys, and the last thing I wanted to be told was that my role in the grand plan of happiness was to do dishes and laundry. If I only knew then what I know now. What I know now is how truly important it is for a mother to be home with her children. That the "mundane" tasks of motherhood actually refine a woman. That serving your family only increases your love for them. That there is nothing more beneficial for your children than cultivating and creating a home where they are safe, loved and taught the principles of the gospel. That what the world offers is only a distraction from what's most important. I'd love to say that I'm now perfect at doing the dishes, the laundry and keeping my home. I am not. But I no longer feel like those tasks are a burden. I see them as a meaningful and important contribution to the most important thing in all of time and eternity...my family.

A vocal minority within the church sees the family proclamation as a temporary policy that will one day be changed and expanded to permit same-sex temple sealings and embrace transgenderism. The brethren have been very clear about the eternal, unchanging doctrine found in this prophetic document. The doctrine of the family was established in the very beginning...even before the foundation of this world. It will not change.
