Great to be in Black River for the opening of Level 8 Gaming & Dining Lounge, a strong sign that new investment and energy are returning to this historic town. Black River has always been a place of firsts in Jamaica, from electricity and piped water to the island’s first motor car in 1903. It’s fitting that a new chapter of enterprise is beginning here. With major infrastructure projects underway, including the South Coast Highway expansion, Treasure Beach aerodrome development, and the Negril airport project, St. Elizabeth and the wider south-west are being positioned for stronger tourism, commerce and opportunity. Commendations to Richard Cole and the Cole family for continuing to invest and lead with confidence in Black River.

One of several stops - Bluefields Bay Villas, an epicenter of relief efforts in Westmoreland, which bore the brunt of Hurricane Melissa. Despite major damage to their boutique property, Houston Moncure & his team have been selflessly helping the community out of pocket -supporting their over 100 team members, scores of families, assisting Police, and coordinating with World Central Kitchen to provide hundreds of hot meals day after day.
