This is catnip for anti-semites. Why? Because Tucker can't seem to think of a single reason why it benefitted Britain to oppose Hitler. I don't know, Tucker. Maybe because Hitler was a lying egomaniac who had territorial ambitions beyond Czechoslovakia and Poland, who invaded and took over France, and who made plans to conquer Britain as well. Maybe it was because Hitler's ambition for the "master race" was THE sole cause of the war in Europe, which caused the death of about 50 million people, 35 million of which were civilians. Or maybe it was because Britain didn't want to be ruled by a dictator who murdered his political opponents without trial, who persecuted and subjugated Jews, and who by 1941 would inflict the "final solution" on Europe, which led to the extermination of 6 million Jews. Can you not think of a single reason why Britain benefitted from opposing Hitler's territorial ambitions, including a planned invasion of Britain? What a morally and historically obtuse thing to say, Tucker. The idea that there was no reason for Britain to oppose Hitler is beyond repugnant to decency and reason. But again, it's catnip for the antisemites.

Talarico responds to criticism over saying “God is nonbinary”: “If someone’s got a problem with that statement…they should take it up with the Apostle Paul.” No, Mr. Talarico, we’ll take it up with you because you are distorting Scripture and denying God’s self-revelation. 1. Galatians 3:28 is not talking about God’s nature but about those who are “in Christ”—i.e. followers of Christ. The text isn’t denying that some Christians are male and some are female. It’s denying that male and female receive more or less of a heavenly inheritance based on their sex. We are all “one” in Christ no matter what sex we are. But we are nevertheless still either male or female biologically, and we will be male or female for all eternity. 2. “Non-binary” is a fictional category made up by queer theorists to refer to people who don’t identify with either male or female gender identity. While God does not have a body and therefore does not have a biological sex, He reveals His essential nature in masculine terms. “Father” and “Son” properly name the divine essence and are essential to orthodox trinitarian theology. The Bible always refers to Father and Son with masculine pronouns. Sometimes even the Spirit (a term which is grammatically neuter) has masculine pronouns (John 16:13-14). To describe this revelation as “non-binary” is to cast the Deity into a sacrilegious, profane, abominable, queer-theory paradigm that is completely antithetical to Scripture. The most important thoughts a person can have are their thoughts about God, but you are encouraging people to believe in a false god that looks nothing like the God of the Bible.

I encourage everyone to listen to this message. Piper’s point is that Christians must not be more devoted to nation/ethnicity than to Christ. This shouldn’t be controversial at all among Christians. It is a biblical statement of ordered loves, at the top of which must always be Christ and his kingdom (Matt. 6:33). When these loves are in order, it fuels global missions. When these loves are out of order it kills missions and authentic Christianity.

President Willy Rice delivered a powerful message to the SBC's Executive Committee last night. An important part of it were his remarks about the "Truth and Unity Amendment" concerning the pastoral office. I encourage you to listen to all of his remarks about the amendment in the video below. Here's a highlight: "The lesson of our evangelical and Reformation history is clear. The threat of doctrinal drift is real, and you never drift anywhere worth going. I know there is a ditch on both sides of the road, but the ditch on one side is a chasm. And at the bottom of that chasm are the bones of a thousand gospel movements and institutions that were once vibrant and strong, but they are now empty institutional shells, tragic monuments to a once-great past. Which is why I believe the Truth and Unity Amendment is so important, and why I believe it is critical for Southern Baptists to pass this amendment next year in Indianapolis."
