Joel Embiid, asked about keeping the team together at the trade deadline: "In the past we've been ducking the tax, so hopefully we think about improving [the team at the deadline], because we got a chance." "I hope that at least we get a chance to just go out and compete, because we got a good group of guys in this locker room, and the vibes are the great."

Paul George: "We've shown no sign of a team that will compete. We just don't have the habits of a champion, or a playoff contending team, would have. To be honest, right now it's a little far-fetched. All we can do is work hard and try to just keep going."

Joel Embiid seemed to be hopeful that the previous schedule he was on -- at least two days off after each game -- might be at a point where it could be re-evaluated. "We're gonna talk about it. I feel great. It's up to them. I'll fight for it. If I'm not allowed or if I can't, then it is what it is. Feel pretty good."

"Joel was like 'Things happen, let's go get a W'." "I was kind of like 'that shouldn't happen', but it happened." "They're supposed to call those if there's any chance at all it's a goaltend." "Thankfully we won or that would have been pretty bad." All the Sixers' reactions to the blatant missed goaltending call on Maxey's potential game-winning layup in regulation.

Daryl Morey, on Joel Embiid's injury: "His injury is one where you're managing his symptoms: swelling, and pain. When those things happen, it's best for him to sit out." "We do think there will be a place in the future where the symptoms are reduced, or go to zero."

Nick Nurse, on Joel Embiid's mobility and whether there has been any discussion of resting him: "I would agree that he's not moving nearly as well as we was. We were hoping maybe something conditioning, rhythm, that kind of stuff would get that going, but it doesn't appear that way right now." "So they're doing everything they can do to see what the status is for tomorrow and see if it can get a little bit better."
