Tomorrow is DevDay! Going to be a fun day at Fort Mason. Had Codex make me a new screensaver too.

One of the top pieces of feedback we get about OpenAI Codex: “make it faster”. We addressed it in a big way with our ultra fast Codex-Spark model (research preview for Pro). Available in the latest Codex app, CLI, and IDE extension. Here’s Spark vs 5.3-Codex-Low side-by-side (Credit Romain Huet for the initial idea).

Made a Monaco Grand Prix final lap film with Astra. 🏎️ 87 seconds. All 22 F-1 cars. 2,610 frames to render at 4K 30fps. Codex wrote the scripts to build and animate the Blender scene and also wrote the original stereo soundtrack in Python for engine RPM, gear changes, passing cars and tunnel reverb. Used High reasoning for this!

Try out the Visualize plugin (in preview) in Codex. Some ideas click faster when you can see and interact with it. Here’s a fun example where I asked Codex to build a planet simulator with different controls. 🌎

Turn on Background conversations in the ChatGPT mobile app to continue chatting even if other apps are open or your phone is locked. I changed my iPhone lock screen widget to directly kick off a voice chat as well.

Don't forget that GPT-6 Astra can do more than just use Blender 😅 Can also use the in-app browser to create architecture diagrams
