The Miami Dolphins’ new assistant GM, Kyle Smith, comes with the added experience of being a key piece in a unique QB draft, where Atlanta took Michael Penix shortly after signing Kirk Cousins. Here he is speaking on “the Green Bay model”, explaining how there is no exact science to QB acquisition, but how the team’s philosophy is comfortable with extra investment (or at least more investment than other teams/models) if it gives confidence in the next five years at the position. Sounds pretty similar to Jon-Eric Sullivan’s quote about taking a QB every year, and also seems pretty applicable considering how much capital Miami already has invested in QB Tua Tagovailoa.
