Brittney Griner accidentally yelled “Suns!” after the huddle in practice and her new teammates had to correct her. 😂 I asked Saniya Rivers about it and she joked, “She did [say it] but I got on that a– real quick.” BG confessed that is was an “accident” and confused it for the plural noun. “I messed up. I know it's sun, but I thought it was plural because we're all together. I guess I was being too technical. I am so sorry.” The IX Sports

This is not the first time Alyssa Thomas has expressed her experiencing racist and degrading comments. Back in 2024, when the Connecticut Sun swept the Indiana Fever in the first-round of the playoffs, Thomas addressed the racist comments on social media and that something needed to be done: “In my 11-year career, I've never experienced the racial comments from the Indiana Fever fanbase…It's unacceptable, honestly. There's no place for it. We've been professional throughout the whole entire thing, but I've never been called the things that I've been called on social media.”
