The Internet Computer is now at the point where you can test and feel mass market platforms built on cloud engines. That is how Pierre Samaties frames where the work has got to. What comes next, he says, is walking down the road of adoption with Pakistan, with the UNDP, and with all the other governments that come out of this. Pierre DFINITY Foundation

"The countries we work with can't always afford to build the way richer economies did. And increasingly they may not need to." Ali Theyab Al-Zuhairi set out how the UNDP takes what Pakistan built to other nations. It works through governments first, bringing them the examples that worked and testing how those replicate. Then through its own country offices, which exist in 170 countries and can act as the testing party before a government scales something up. Ali A.D. Al-Zuhairi UN Development

ChatT is Pakistan's sovereign messenger app. It has an activity feed with fine-grained roles and permissions, checklist messages, and optional AI-driven reply suggestions. Matt Grogan went through the feature set. The apps are native, with a beta test program running on the App Store and Google Play, and there is a web version for working at a desk, which he says he personally likes for online video meetings. Digital transformation only works if it happens at the whole-of-nation level, across every sector at once. Pakistan established an apex body containing the prime minister and every provincial chief minister, mandated to sign off on AI-led transformation across government, with the Pakistan Digital Authority working across all of it. Twelve critical sectors, each getting its own strategy. Dr. Sohail Munir frames the third pillar as a question: how do we reimagine governance in an AI-native era? "The UI for government to citizen interaction has now pretty much moved away from apps to chats, or even beyond that, to agents." Dr. Sohail Munir treats the channel as settled. It is a chat now, or a talk with your agent, by text or voice, and government service delivery has to meet people there. That is exactly why he wanted ChatT built on this platform: so the same channel carries the citizen to government, and the government back to the citizen. Dr Sohail Munir Pakistan Digital Authority

Pierre Samaties shares an overview of what the cooperation agreement between DFINITY and the UNDP actually covers. Three technologies: cloud engine technology, Caffeine AI, and AIware (ie: OpenSaaS). Each gets applied across three verticals, starting inside the UNDP itself, then with the civil society organizations, and then with other governments, by taking the playbook of Pakistan's lessons learned and the success it has had to the next country. Digital transformation is one of three enablers in the UNDP's strategic plan through 2029. Ali Theyab Al-Zuhairi's team surveyed community organizations in countries with limited digital access. 86% had no digital platform or application of their own, despite having clear digital needs when you ask them. 68% are women-led. 98% were still at pilot or prototype stage. That is the opportunity he wants to move on: the need is already articulated, and the people doing the work are already there. Ali A.D. Al-Zuhairi UN Development

Every economy has roads and bridges. Dr. Sohail Munir gives digital public infrastructure the same weightage, and it comes down to two rails. One moves money, account to account, sub-second, which a lot of jurisdictions have been implementing. The other enables the exchange of data under a certain governance, and that is the harder one. Pakistan has published its reference architecture for it, branded VASAL, which means to connect in Urdu. Underneath sit the capabilities many use cases need: provenance, track and trace, ID, verifiable credentials. Dr Sohail Munir Pakistan Digital Authority

Pakistan went looking for a government cloud and kept hitting the same gap. "When I look at most digital government applications, a key part that is always missing is trust in the transaction." Estonia had solved it with a provenance layer, so every transaction carries cryptographic proof. Dr. Sohail Munir wanted that from the ground up, alongside a cloud that enforces Pakistan's own data governance standards. Which made a distributed ledger a requirement rather than a preference. Digital sovereignty is now a concern across all major governments, and Pierre Samaties says it produces one demand: a new kind of cloud. Data infrastructure has become a target in modern warfare, so it has to be tamperproof and always-on. It also has to fit a world where AI is not only the best hacker but the best builder of software. The Internet Computer is built for both: applications on a cloud engine, queryable by an agent in real time, with nothing in between. Pierre DFINITY Foundation

ChatT (Pakistan's sovereign messenger app) was architected from the outset to carry hundreds of millions of users. Matt Grogan explains how. OpenChat gave every user and every group its own canister. ChatT packs up to a million users into a single one, and runs four canisters per subnet so all four of a subnet's update threads stay busy. It all runs in Pakistani data centers, with no dependencies on big tech. Matt Grogan ∞ OpenChat ∞

"The question every government asks now is how to keep meaningful resilience around their national data." AI is changing how software gets built and how services reach people, and countries are choosing the infrastructure they will run on in the middle of it. Ali Theyab Al-Zuhairi shared his thoughts on what the UNDP brings to that choice: trust. He calls it the real currency. Ali A.D. Al-Zuhairi UN Development

Internet Identity is getting an MCP server. We sat down with Arshavir Ter-Gabrielyan to understand what it is and why it matters. He starts with the problem: an AI agent runs in a cloud sandbox. No access to your device. No safe way to hold your keys. The MCP server is the answer. Keys stay in a trusted execution environment, and the agent asks permission to act in each app. Full conversation below.

SEV Subnets are now live on the Internet Computer. We sat down with Björn Tackmann to understand what they actually are and why they matter. He starts with the problem: standard cloud infrastructure writes your data to memory in plaintext. Anyone with access to the hardware can read it. That's not a flaw in any specific product. It's how computers work. SEV Subnets are the Internet Computer's answer to that. Full conversation below.
