A thousand people showed up in Traverse City, Michigan today to line the streets in protest ICE. It was below freezing. Snow everywhere. Sunday afternoon. Michigan is a swing state. This isn’t Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids or Detroit. And 1,000 people still came out. That’s an enormous share of the local population showing up to one protest, especially in below-freezing weather.

What a week. Someone used the N word at a state senate hearing on gun sense and today we have nazis marching in Columbus Ohio. It’s almost like they feel like they have permission to act this way. 🤔

During his 2024 campaign, Mike Rogers looked into a camera and warned Michigan voters that we might not “survive” $3.99 gas. He blamed Democrats, blamed their agenda, and treated pain at the pump like proof that America was falling apart. Now gas is pushing $5 in Michigan under the Republican agenda he supports, and suddenly Rogers has discovered nuance. Now it’s about Iran. Now it’s about “direct actions.” Now it’s somehow still Democrats’ fault. Please. Mike Rogers did not care about gas prices. He cared about using gas prices. And now the receipt is louder than his campaign.

Michigan House Speaker Matt Hall was met with cries of “shame” after he ripped back $645 million in already-approved funding for programs that support pregnant women, babies, kids with cancer, veterans, education, and local community projects. These weren’t bloated budgets or wasteful spending. Hall’s cuts hit a nonprofit that provides wigs to children undergoing cancer treatment and an organization that supports child survivors of sexual assault. House Speaker Matt Hall is calling this responsibility. It’s cruelty dressed up as governance. And even inside the GOP, the move is raising alarms. Rep. Jon Bumstead (R-Muskegon) said the state should stand by the promises it already made in the budget. When people yelled “shame,” they weren’t heckling — they were calling out a betrayal.

Congressman John James is dodging accountability like it’s his job—and honestly, maybe it is. With over 143 Stock Act violations and $1.2 million in sketchy trades, he’s more interested in padding his bank account than serving his district. But when pressed about it? He runs faster than he trades his stocks. Check out the video below where he flat-out avoids taking responsibility. Is this who we want repping us in Congress? Nah, it’s time to elect someone who’s actually working for the people, not their own portfolio. 👇
