Instead, he said Donald Trump “wants the Iranian people to have the ability to fight against what is happening to them,” describing Iran’s government as “a brutal regime” that “kills people in the streets” and “hangs people by cranes.” He added that this goal is “separate from the specific things that were being done in this operation before they concluded, and certainly separate from the operation that is currently ongoing.”
