Robbie hasn’t been touched for two whole years since his dad died because of how much a trainer traumatised him. The daughter sent us the most distressing video of a so called ‘professional trainer’ traumatising this poor boy. Bite gloves on, restrained by a tight slip lead being forced to endure touch. He snapped and snarled trying to get them to stop. All they achieved was making him more scared of people, more likely to make a mistake, and unable to accept human comfort. We wanted to try and make up for what they did to him. Robbie is another of the 20 dogs we could take in thanks building Phase 2 at Rescue World. This is his first couple of weeks in our care. Robbie is not a bad dog. He just needs careful handling, kindness and positive associations. He wants to please and be with you, just so long as he feels safe. Thank you Andi for showing him a way back to loving people. We hope his ‘trainer’ sees this video and takes a long hard look at themselves and the techniques they employ. You failed this boy.

Secret had not been outside for 3 whole years… tissues at the ready 🥹 When we heard of Secret and Toby whose rescue was closing down we opened part of Phase 2 at Rescue World early so we could help them. Their rescue couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw Secret playing outside. This is such a magical place for broken souls to heal and reconnect with their inner dog. The last few months have been hard but this is what we have created together… all for the dogs no one wants 🐕🐕🐕 And this is just the beginning… Happy Friday everyone

She sat by the door all day and night waiting for her family to come back. Loyal and frightened, she waited and waited. Local dog lovers brought Bluebell to our rescue when the dog warden couldn't collect her, being the weekend. She hasn't had any training and not much experience of life, but to see her melt into Tracy's arms tells you everything about her sweet nature. We will never stop helping these poor dogs, the most misunderstood and the most likely to get euthanised if they end up in a council pound.

Watch little Izzy arrive at our kennel-free rescue. This video is for his family who had to make the most difficult decision after his dad passed away. Izzy resource guards and it simply wasn’t safe or feasible for him to stay in a home with a small child with only one parent present. We want his mum to know we’ve got your boy, he is happy with us and has settled in well. It won’t be long before he is in a new loving home 🏡🐶💜

When he was younger Obi was confined in a cupboard 24 hours a day. We couldn’t have him stuck in a kennel feeling confined again. We had a brave little poppet in the park today - new girl Suzi 🐶😍 Her siblings passed away from parvo but she has been living with other dogs and learned how to commincate from them. She was a little nervous and politely asked Pancho and Tucker to give her space. But then the treats came out and she decided to be brave. Suzi already has a home lined up from our waiting list - a lovely family who have been patiently waiting for a rescue rather than buying from a breeder. They will be getting a little bundle of love and sweetness. And Suzi’s life has transformed forever 💜

The arrival of Dona and the power of pack rehabilitation 🐕🐕🐕 Dona has been in the UK for 12 months, sent straight to a foster home after arriving from Bosnia. She hasn't been able to make any progress and move forward in all of that time. Behaviourists couldn't help her because Dona can't learn from people. Her basis for understanding the world comes from other dogs. We can hardly believe Sir Alex Ferguson has filmed an appeal to help get the doors to our new site open, creating 20 new rescue spaces. We still have a mountain climb but as the most respected football manager of all time knows, determination wins the game. Pls RT #dogsoftwitter

The arrival of special girl Sandy. Sometimes a dog just needs a good night's sleep to feel themselves again 🐶😴😃 When Sandy arrived with us she was feeling a bit tired and overwhelmed. She came into the park but didn't feel like socialising much. So we took her into the visitor centre where she quickly settled and went to sleep. The next day we saw a much brighter and happier Sandy who was ready to make friends. Newbie Dona was on hand to provide the entertainment. What a beautiful sight watching them play 💜

Our beautiful old ragamuffin Lola peacefully went to sleep forever. It was her time 🐶🌈 Originally from Romania, Lola had been brought over to a UK rescue. Too feral to rehome she was kept on her own in a cold barn, living in the most squalid conditions. When her rescue was closing down we were asked to help. We can only be there for dogs like Lola thanks to our Golden Paw Club members whose £5 a month enables us to take dogs who need more care. Some would say dogs like Lola aren't worth saving, but it has been our privilege to make her last couple of years her very best. We have more supporters needing to pause their subscriptions than ever. Of course we understand, times are so hard. But if anyone were fortunate enough to be the position to pick up the baton and join today it would mean the world. Because together we can make such a difference 💜

The best thing you will see today is pocket bully Buzz transform in front of your eyes. This sweet boy found himself all alone in the pound with no one coming for him (where was his breeder?) He arrived terrified. Then he met Laika 🐶 and felt safe enough to explore. Then he met Brego, Marty and Rosie 🐶🐶🐶 and with that he wanted to play. This is dogs helping dogs. Well this post is pretty extraordinary! Prepare for your hearts to melt 🥰 You may remember Pearl, one of the five white rommies we rescued in 2023. All of her friends moved forwards in time but Pearl was unable to make much progress. When Rescue Wold opened we moved her up there and it has been one of the most heatwarming things to see how happy she has become. This Chistmas our dog handler Diana offered her a special foster. Pearl is used to Diana and is also friends with her girl Cherry 🐶 who sometimes comes into work with her. Diana is also mum to gorgeous Rocky so it's been two D4R adopted dogs teaching her how to live in a home. Pearl's progress has astounded us all, and we are so grateful to Diana and her family for welcoming this special girl into their home. Special fostering is one of the greatest gifts you can give to a dog that has never known home life. When you go to the secure field and your good friend Bumblebee is there for a play date 🐶🐶 Lollipop the double amputee streetdog giving Bee, an able bodied UK staffy a run for his money! Dogs don’t see disabilities they just read energy. And Lollipop’s zoomies are a sight to behold.
