The tragic death of a man in the tiger enclosure at a Yorkshire wildlife park has reopened a much needed debate about keeping tigers and other wild animals in captivity. Tigers have no place behind bars where they live a miserable existence for our entertainment, they belong in the wild

As I said on LBC Radio with Venessa Feltz this afternoon there can be no justification for Rupert Lowe MP to have his game keeper shoot his pet Labrador. A dog at the end of its life deserves care & compassion and a dignified humane death by lethal injection under the care of a vet, not a gun to head from a game keeper LBC Vanessa Feltz

Warning ! upsetting images of dog cruelty from Turkey Canikkale Unity dog shelter in Turkey A dead dog is hanging over the shelter fence after apparently trying to escape and possibly getting stuck. (it may have died in the shelter and been thrown there but there is evidence on social media of dogs scaling the fencing to try to escape). One dog is dead on the ground. Staff have not noticed or do not care. Dead dogs are routinely left and are eaten by the other dogs. This is the disgusting reality of local authority run dog shelters in Turkey. Nothing but torture chambers #Turkey

3 days on from the shooting of two dogs in East London by Metropolitan police, public concern is growing about the actions of the police. No evidence the dogs had injured any member of the public, video footage shows first dog was still alive as 2nd dog was chased down & shot dead. Recent footage shows dogs playfully travelling on tube with their owner posing no threat. Investigation is now needed Metropolitan Police Sadiq Khan RSPCA (England & Wales)

The Turkish Interior Ministry are dispatching inspectors to all 81 Turkish provinces throughout September to oversee stray dog collection and identify regions violating legislation. The Government claim they have already removed millions of stray dogs from Turkish towns & cities & are now coming down hard on anyone trying to prevent them finishing the job. This is the biggest slaughter of healthy dogs ever seen in the modern history. It shames Turkey & the International community who have remained silent to this barbarity Lisa Ozmelek Dog Desk Animal Action #Turkey
