Initial information indicates that the students captured in the videos are from two schools in the Central Region. The Director General of GES has since been directed to investigate the matter. Accordingly, he will meet with the Central Regional Director of GES, the district directors of GES in whose jurisdictions the schools are located, and the heads of the said schools, this morning, at 10 am [23rd February 2026] at the GES headquarters in Accra. Even as we await the report from the Director General of the GES, let me state that the Minister for Education and I take a very serious view of these acts of violence.
