26y old girl. Working in clinical research. Came with chest pain. ECG was abnormal. Advised to get admitted and undergo angio. Only friends had accompanied. Reluctant. Family had to come from Chennai. Finally got admitted after 3 hours of deliberation. I insisted on admission and went and spoke to them in ER bcos she is a diabetic since 10 years and symptoms were typical. First Troponin negative. Second Troponin 16,400! (Cut off 11.0) Stabilized with medication and angio done today after family arrived. Showed LAD 90% blocked. Stented. Life saved. #MedTwitter #CardioTwitter #HeartAttack

We recently performed a successful #TAVR in a frail 79-year-old lady weighing just 35kg, with severe aortic valve stenosis with severe left ventricular dysfunction (EF 20%) at Kauvery Hospital, Marathahalli. She did develop some rhythm issues and also had to undergo a permanent pacemaker implantation after a day. We were able to discharge her after 4 days. Prior to this, she was suffering from frequent breathing issues and heart failure, leading to multiple hospitalizations. #medtwitter TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement) is an effective alternative to patients who can not undergo open heart valve replacement due to high surgical risk.

Chest pain or discomfort especially in the center of the chest brought on by exertion 2. Feeling breathless on minimal exertion 3. Palpitations 4. Effort intolerance 5. Swelling of feet 6. Undue fatigue 7. Any chest pain or discomfort persisting for more than 10 minutes and increasing, with sweating 8. Feeling of nausea and vomiting along with chest discomfort 9. Feeling light headed and having black outs 10. Having risk factors like smoking, Diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, obesity, family history of heart problems and stress. #MedTwitter
