There is something about the very first TMNT movie from 1990 that still gets me excited to this day. The way the turtles looked, the film colour grading and of course the amazing music by composer John Du Prez. The start of the movie is still one of my favourite scenes of all time and a lot of that is because of the soundtrack. I can still remember my mom taking me to see it, she worked at a large retail clothing company in Cape Town and her work got her early sneak preview tickets. I didn’t believe her when she told me it was a proper ‘real life’ ninja turtles film. It was only once I started watching it that I realised it was an actual movie and I will never forget the excitement when I first saw Raphael’s eyes looking out from the sewer.
