This is the last patient I will ever see as a neurosurgeon. The patient and his wife were kind enough to give me permission to document it and show it to you all. Bittersweet moment.

I started my journey to be a neurosurgeon over 40 years ago. Now being almost 62 years old, I realize it’s time to let go and pursue other interests in life. It wasn’t an easy decision but I know it’s the right one. After being on call over half of my life, it will be nice to

As a married couple of 34 years, Cindy and I are trying to do more adventurous activities on our own. We want to become self sufficient boaters but it’s not easy. So the saying goes, “Practice makes Perfect” and here we go. #boatlife #marriedcouple #adventures

I’m a retired brain surgeon and I wanna tell you why you feel like Life is passing by. I just need one minute to explain this to you so hang in there. Repetitive daily routines stop the brain from recording clear detailed memories. When every day looks the same, your brain does

Today is a very special day for me. It’s my last day of trauma call after almost 40 years and to say I’m excited is an understatement.

When my mom was diagnosed with brain cancer and everything she had to go through when I was in medical school, it solidified me wanting to become a neurosurgeon. And even further, it gave me the experience base that I would use for the rest of my career when talking with patients and their families and loved ones about end of life care. And for anyone reading this who has lost a parent when they were younger, I promise you it gets better and you can accomplish great things. Keep going. #cancer
