My morning as a 66-year-old functional medicine doctor starts before I even touch my phone. Every morning I come out to my rooftop and let the sunlight hit my eyes. Morning light is one of the most powerful signals you can give your body. It resets your circadian rhythm, regulates melatonin, and reminds your biology what time it is. We’re designed to live in sync with nature. Light is how we do that. Then I sit down and do breathwork. Five minutes. Three-minute cycle, breath hold, two-minute cycle, breath hold. Simple. But what happens inside your body is anything but. Your nervous system settles, oxygen floods your blood, and this deep stillness kicks in that’s hard to explain until you feel it. Then some Chi Gong and meditation to close it out. No screens. No email. Just light, breath, movement, and stillness before the world asks anything of me. That’s the foundation. Try it for one week and tell me what happens. 👇

What if preparing for pregnancy started long before trying to conceive? Dr. Ann Shippy explains why the months before pregnancy may be one of the most important windows for shaping a child’s future health. Nutrition, stress, environmental toxins, mitochondrial function, and the microbiome all influence fertility. They also affect the health of the next generation. The encouraging part is that many of these factors are modifiable. Taking 3 to 12 months to prepare your body before pregnancy can improve fertility, support healthier pregnancies, and potentially influence long-term outcomes for both parents and children. Preparing for a baby isn’t only about conception but also creating the healthiest possible start for the next generation. The Ozempic conversation everyone needs to hear. Thanks for having me Christopher C. Cuomo

Ozempic and other GLP1 drugs have been helpful for a lot of people. But when you start prescribing them to nearly 40 million Americans, you have to expect complications and side effects, like with any medication. About 4% of people experience serious gastrointestinal complications, and nearly 75% have symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. When you do the math, that adds up to over a million people dealing with serious GI issues alone. And for some, the complications are severe… bowel obstruction that can require emergency surgery, pancreatitis, sepsis, even life-threatening outcomes. So while these drugs can be effective, they are not risk-free. Without addressing food quality, protein intake, strength training, and lifestyle, the weight comes back and the risks remain.

The health of America is in crisis—and we need leaders who are ready to face the facts, ask the hard questions, and fight for meaningful change. I’ve known Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for 20 years. He’s a man of integrity, deeply committed to transforming the health of our nation. He believes in science—not as a set of settled answers, but as a process of asking bold questions and seeking the truth. Right now, 38% of teens in the U.S. are pre-diabetic. We rank 48th in life expectancy worldwide, despite spending nearly $5 trillion annually on healthcare. Much of this is driven by a broken food system, ultra-processed foods, and a lack of focus on chronic disease prevention. RFK Jr. is not anti-vaccine. He supports vaccines and has vaccinated his own children. He’s simply asking for transparency, accountability, and rigorous scientific inquiry into the safety and efficacy of all medical interventions—including vaccines. This is not about conspiracies; it’s about ensuring we have honest conversations rooted in data, not dogma. If you believe in standing up for health, integrity, and truth, you can make your voice heard by calling your senators to express support for RFK Jr. Here’s how you can help: -Call or email your senators to advocate for honest leadership in addressing our nation’s health crisis. Senators to Contact: Susan Collins (ME-R): (202) 224-2523, email: Lisa Murkowski (AK-R): (202) 224-6665, email: Mitch McConnell (KY-R): (202) 224-2541, email: Thom Tillis (NC-R): (202) 224-6342, email: Bill Cassidy (LA-R): (202) 224-5824, email: Cory Booker (NJ-D): (202) 224-3224, email: Catherine Cortez Masto (NV-D): (202) 224-3542, email: James Lankford (OK-R): (202) 224-5754, email:

What if I told you there’s a powerful drug that can transform your health without a single side effect? That drug is not in a pill—it’s in your kitchen. Food isn’t just calories—it’s a molecular signal that programs your biology in real time. Every bite you take sends information to your cells, influencing everything from gene expression to hormone balance, brain chemistry, and immune function. By making thoughtful food choices, you’re leveraging one of the most powerful tools we have in medicine. This drug is faster, cheaper, and more effective than any drug we’ve ever discovered. Will you utilize it?

If you eat like crap, you’ll feel like crap. Your body is a complicated biochemical hormonal soup controlled mostly by what you eat; the information in food can literally upgrade or downgrade your biological software with every bite. Changing the way that you eat for the better, is THE single greatest thing you can do to change the course of your trajectory.

Many people assume eating healthy on a tight budget isn’t realistic. I understand why. SNAP benefits average about $6 per person, per day. That has to cover every meal, often with limited time, access, and resources. So we decided to show what’s actually possible. We’re eating a whole-foods diet for 7 days on about $6 per day, roughly $86 for the week, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Each meal is built around protein, healthy fats, and fiber to support steady energy, reduce cravings, and make meals more satisfying. No ultra-processed foods. No refined flour. No added sugar. Just real food that works in real life. I’ll be sharing simple, repeatable meals over the coming weeks. If you try any of them, feel free to share your version. I’d genuinely like to see what you’re making. You can find the full video and guide here:

🚩 Red flag: They think they already know everything. 🟩 Green flag: They’re still asking how to love you better. In this conversation with Yung Pueblo private coaching, we explore how humility (or the lack of it) can make or break a relationship. A rigid sense of identity often hides deep attachment and resistance to growth. But someone who’s willing to learn, evolve, and ask how they can support your happiness—that’s someone worth building with. 🎧 Full episode out now on The Dr. Hyman Show

The most effective treatment I’ve seen for everything and anything is an elimination diet. But I don’t like that term, it’s really the addition diet. Get rid of the crap, add the good stuff. In just 5 days, symptoms drop by 70%. It’s shocking, but it works.

The food on your plate may not be as nourishing as you think. Over the last fifty years, conventional farming practices have stripped our soil of vital nutrients, and the result is food that can contain up to 50% fewer vitamins and minerals than it once did. Same calories. Fewer nutrients. When we prioritize yield, shelf life, and profit over soil health, we deplete the very foundation that makes food truly healing. By supporting regenerative agriculture, choosing whole, real food grown in healthy soil, and demanding change from our food system, we can restore the nutrient density our bodies depend on. Food is information. And the quality of that information matters.

How LOVE is MEDICINE 🔈⬆️ Love is so powerful, that it can literally change your gene expression. Science tells us that our social connections, whether with loved ones or through a strong sense of community, can directly influence our gene expression—a field known as sociogenomics. 🧬 When we’re in loving, heart-centered relationships, or part of supportive communities, we activate genes that reduce inflammation, promote repair, and slow aging. On the other hand, conflict and loneliness can switch on genes tied to chronic disease and accelerated aging. One doctor I spoke with told me how love helped him recover from illness—not just emotionally, but physically. It gave him meaning, purpose, and a reason to thrive. The simple act of cuddling, or being surrounded by love and belonging, can literally reprogram your epigenome to heal and repair. Are you spending time with loved ones this week? It will truly benefit your health and longevity. ♥️

FOOD = CODE that reprograms your body in MINUTES! Every bite you take is literally rewriting your gene expression, hormones, brain chemistry, and immune system. Most people have NO IDEA their symptoms are caused by what they’re eating. I just had an amazing chat with Jay Shetty, breaking down: - Why 93% of Americans are metabolically broken - The difference between medicinal vs inflammatory foods - How ultra-processed foods reprogram your biology for illness + I’m finally opening up about my near-death experience that changed everything for me just a few short months ago… Stop accepting fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, and depression as “normal.” These are signals your body is sending you. Listen to them. The power to transform your health is literally on your plate - and it starts with your very next meal.

This is a national crisis. New CDC data confirms: Nearly 1 in 3 teenagers now has prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. When I graduated medical school, we called it "adult onset diabetes" because it ONLY affected adults. We had to change the name to "type 2 diabetes" because now we're seeing it in children as young as 2 years old. This represents nothing less than a national emergency, one that's crippling our country economically (accounting for 1 out of every 5 dollars in our economy) and robbing our children of their futures. The average obese child faces a 13-year shorter life expectancy. But here's what gives me hope: Food is the most powerful drug we have. I've worked with countless patients who've reversed their diabetes by addressing the root causes, insulin resistance and inflammation. I've seen people go from daily insulin injections to completely normal blood sugar without medication, simply by changing their diet and lifestyle. Research shows 91% of type 2 diabetes cases are preventable through diet and lifestyle alone. We have the tools. We have the knowledge. We just need to start treating the root cause instead of managing symptoms.

Europe bans thousands of chemicals we allow in our food. Why aren’t we asking why? Childhood obesity has increased by 400% in the last 40 years. Type 2 diabetes in adolescents has surged 200% in just two decades. 1 in 4 teenagers has prediabetes. ADHD diagnoses have skyrocketed 800%, and autism rates have gone from 4 in 10,000 to 1 in 36 (!!!) This isn’t normal. This isn’t genetic. This is a food problem. It’s time to wake up. Food is the root cause of our crisis—and it must be the solution. That’s why I’m fighting for SB 314, a bill that bans some of the worst chemicals from public school meals—because no child should be forced to eat food that puts their health at risk.
