This is an example of Germany in settled possession and what's wrong with it. They create wide triangles on both sides which is good as it makes ball circulation and counter pressing easier. However, to make this effective and get the most out the triangles you need movement and rotations within them, just look at England and France for this! Not enough runs in behind, not enough movement and rotations in the final 3rd, lack of wide dribblers (leaving out El Mala, Adeyemi and Schade were mistakes). Not enough patterns of play to advance the ball, no emphasis on manipulating the positioning of the Paraguay backline. Overall not good enough from Germany.
