President William Ruto has defended the use of national and county government land for affordable housing, saying it should be developed for Kenyans rather than left vulnerable to grabbers or turned into slums. Speaking at the Broad-based PG meeting in Naivasha, Ruto said public land can legally be converted for development. He added that houses built through the housing levy and public land are sold to Kenyans, with the proceeds creating a revolving fund to finance more homes.
