Every athlete knowsā¦. One day they are going to have to hang up their cleats. Every athlete has gone thru ups and downs in their career to get to that last gameā¦ ā¦.that last at-bat. Tonight, parker byrd had his final AB of his final game. Instead of ātakingā ball 4 of a 3-1 countā¦ He swung. For those that havenāt seen it online yet. parker byrd threw out the āUnceremonial 1st Pitchā at a soldout Cosmic Baseball game last night in Durham. He faces off against another local kid from Eastern NC, Brantley Cutler . Love how both Parker and Brantley are using their platform to the glory of God. Both overcame injury (Byrd-boating accident, Cutler-broken back in HS) and are using baseball as a way to show how to persevere and overcome adversity. Good stuff from 2 great guysā¦ some of Eastern NCās finest products. š¤

Itās WAY bigger than just an RBI Somewhere around the countryā¦ a parent is walking to their childās room with tears in their eyesā¦ To show them a video of someone who looks like themā¦ doing things that they never thought they could. But itās not just about those other kids or familiesā¦. I think itās easy for people to pull for PB because they always see his big smile, and positivityā¦ The truth isā¦ PB probably needed that win much more than we could ever know. Weāre proud of you brotherā¦ and love you. Keep grinding baby. You have more people supporting you than you could ever imagine. We still have more steps to take. I absolutely love this videoā¦ - The energy of Zach Agnos on the mound - Lane Hoover with the hopsā¦ - The crowd locked into every pitch. Weāre gonna need it again this weekend. I havenāt mentioned Omaha once all year. This will be the only time you see it. Iāve always said, āWe will get to Omaha when we least expect itā Think about the adversity that we have gone thru the last month. Most teams would have folded when they lost 4 of the top 5 pitchers during that period. Iāve never seen how much hate there is on ECU right now. - āECU doesnāt deserve to hostā - āECU isnāt good enoughā - āECU hasnāt won as many Q1 as we haveā - āChase Burnsā return to Tennessee is going to be epicā - āECU is only hosting because the AD was on the committeeā THEY DONT WANT US TO WIN. We went from the program that people wanted to see succeedā¦. To the program that people want to say āI told you soā Pirate š“āā ļø Nation has always had a chip on its shoulders. From the lazy āEZUā comments, to the lack of funding from the UNC System over the decades, to the discrepancy of TV money of the ābig programsāā¦. I post this video a lotā¦ but I rarely explain what was going on. ECU was playing Charlotte June 5, 2021ā¦ both teams were 1-0 in the NCAA Regional. The winner here was in the drivers seat to go to a Super Regional. Charlotte was leading 5-3 at one point heading into the B7. We had just tied it up with Bryson Worrell doubleā¦ Then Lane Hoover comes to the plateā¦ he has a 2-2 countā¦ Then magic happens Letās bring that atmosphere this weekend.
