After the resounding success of last year's first event, the Edinburgh Tartan Parade returns in just a few weeks' time - Saturday 9th May 2026. An annual celebration of heritage, culture and inclusivity, this year's event is set to be even bigger and better than the last, showcasing a display of tartan-clad participants marching through the historic streets of Edinburgh. ✨ You can watch the parade beginning on the Royal Mile at 1pm, which will march down to Princes Street Gardens, followed by a Ceilidh in the Gardens from 2pm onwards.

At exactly seven and thirty seven minutes past each our, the clock on the west end of Princes Street plays either 'Caller Herrin' or 'Scotland the Brave' as tiny pipers march around it. Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour at 1am tomorrow, as British Summer Time has finally come to an end.

The Floral Clock in Princes Street Gardens is currently being planted. First seen in 1903, it is the oldest floral clock in the world and can be found next to the stairs leading into West Princes Street Gardens. The design changes annually and is made up of thousands of plants which are arranged to form intricate patterns. This Sunday, 13th September, the Riding of the Marches returns to Edinburgh. Riders from across the world will attend the event which was formed in 2008 as an annual re-enactment of the Edinburgh Riding of the Marches. Riders will enjoy exhilarating gallops through gorgeous scenery, ending with the epic finale on the Royal Mile. 🐎 All are welcome to watch, enjoy entertainments and join in with the record-breaking Royal Mile Ceilidh from 12:30, with the People's Procession beginning at 14:30.

The Elephant House is officially back on George IV Bridge! 🐘☕ Four years after the devastation to the café during a fire on the bridge, this iconic café has been restored and is open to visitors and locals once again. Known as the location where early books of the Harry Potter series were written, the café is a popular spot for fans with many nods to the novels - and of course delicious coffee and sweet treats too. ✨
