CINDY SEES A SNAKE Last night, Cindy was on the back porch giving Mom’s caregiver an update. Here’s the moment she realizes there was a copperhead snake right beside her! Those moves! 🤣 The funniest part? As she’s trying to save Izzy from getting bitten, she yells, “Izzy you’re an idiot!” It’s not like Izzy heard it because she’s deaf thus the slap on the rear. The irony is Cindy loves Izzy more than just about anything. Eight years ago, Cindy rescued her. Earlier this year, she spent weeks by her side, day and night, nursing her through a life-threatening illness. So when Izzy started getting curious about the snake, Cindy’s first thought was, “After everything we’ve been through with her, this is how she’s going to go out?!” Thankfully, everyone is fine. I was able to safely capture the copperhead using one of Mom’s long-reach grabbers, and my longtime friend Russell Cavender, better known as “The Snake Chaser”, relocated it to a rural wooded area about five miles from our home. Yes, Russell told us to be on the lookout for more. Yeah. What a night! 😂🐍

Cindy and I were thrilled to spot this magnificent buffalo during our visit to Badlands National Park Saturday. We sat quietly in the car as it slowly approached, then paused to give us a curious look before crossing the road and continuing on its way. What an unforgettable experience! FYI - Cindy used the zoom on her phone to capture this photo, so the buffalo wasn’t nearly as close as it appears. We made sure to keep a safe distance.

Cindy and I were on one of three planes that took off from Talkeetna, Alaska, for a flight around Denali and the towering peaks of the Alaska Range. One of the highlights was landing on the Ruth Glacier. And of course, if you land on a glacier, you have to take off again! This video captures one of the planes lifting off from the ice. While Denali looks like it’s just beyond the icy runway, it was actually 12 miles away. Watch as the plane quickly becomes a speck against one of the most breathtaking landscapes we’ve ever seen.

8:37 am - this is the most insane video I’ve seen of the wildfire yet. It was raging near Wyandot Ct. in The Reserve at Walkers Woods early this morning. Heroic firefighters were able to suppress the fire and save all of these homes. Video via Greg Staff.

After our incredible day taking in Denali, we were heading back to the hotel when our shuttle driver, Craig, suddenly pulled over. He had spotted a mama moose and her two calves! Cindy and I were absolutely mesmerized watching them in the wilderness. And before anyone asks, yes, they were quite a distance away! We were just able to zoom in with our cameras to capture this cool video! 🫎🫎🫎

6:20 pm - Check out our firefighters in action last night on Wyandot Court in The Reserve at Walkers Woods. Using this deck gun and other resources, they prevented several homes from burning down. Big shout out to Myrtle Beach Fire Department C shift Engine 1 crew and all the firefighters from here and around the state for all their support and hard work!

CJ Pahis was heading out of the Murrells Inlet jetties to go fishing when he spotted something you definitely don’t expect…a deer swimming straight out to sea. Clearly disoriented, the poor guy was headed the wrong way. CJ gently guided him back toward land and stayed with him until he made it safely to shore, where he took off into the woods. Huge thanks to CJ for stepping in and saving this little fella!

From ice skating to pool party! Poor Stephen Lane of Dillon. It’s bad enough to slip on the ice, but then to fall into the pool too?! I’m sorry, Stephen, I’m laughing so hard I can’t catch my breath! I’m really glad you’re okay, and thanks for sharing the moment.
